This game has so much potential. If they really flesh out the story and exploration mechanics this could finally be the Splatoon game that appeals to other Nintendo fans who were turned off by the online

New single player!? Splatoon is prime for a fuller single player experience. I love the single player. It has nintendo platforming + ink weapons, ink swimming.
I've played Splatoon a bit and I love the world and gameplay, but I've always thought to myself that I wish this were a single-player experience - looks like I've finally gotten my wish! I wonder what features they'll bring over from the mainline games into Raiders. I'd really like to retain the character customization.
It's interesting that Nintendo revealed this game though the Nintendo Today app instead of through a direct. I wonder if they'll do more of these reveal trailers through the app. A new console generation is the perfect time to switch up how they do things.
I think it’s nice that the game’s focused on single player while on the multiplayer side of things you have Splatoon 3 still getting content updates. Also it’s really cool that Deep Cut gets more time in the spotlight.
I do wonder about release date, no window given makes me think it’s a few years away like maybe celebrating the 5th anniversary of Splatoon 3 in 2027.
Was waiting for a game like this. I like Splatoon, but I like the single player campaign more while the multiplayer feels too repetitive and rehashy and I lost interest (and skipped 3). Might just stick to Raiders games from here out if it becomes a series.
I'm really interested in how this goes. The trailer honestly didn't tell me much about how the game will play so I dunno how to feel about it, and while the Splatoon campaigns are generally good, the majority of them wouldn't be worth 40 bucks on their own, let alone 60 or 70. I assume its gonna go in a new direction than past campaigns.
The idea of Splatoon branching out into non-multiplayer titles is already compelling enough(especially given how much effort goes into each game's single player modes) but I'm mainly interested in the heavier focus on Deep Cut in this one. I don't think it's too controversial to say they were pretty underutilized in 3 - they had their dynamic but it was never fleshed out or expanded upon in the same way it was for the Squid Sisters or Off The Hook. Raiders looks to be finally rectifying that and it's great to see; I'm already in love with their new outfits and I'm excited to see if they'll payoff on what we know them through the Splatcasts and Fests(remember the very first Splatfest they did? Funny how things pay-off).
It may not be Splatoon 4, but I'd still love to play this. I like playing both the single player and multiplayer modes in the Splatoon series, and I've finished all the story modes, so I'm looking forward to what they do with Raiders. Good to see Deep Cut being around too.

AKA MarioVillager92. Ask if you want to be Switch friends with me, but I want to get to know you first. Thanks! ❤️
I guess I can consider all of yesterday’s announcements, including the one for Splatoon Raiders, a big last-day-of-school surprise. I was having thoughts of a spinoff game being announced while we wait for Splatoon 4, and to see it just announced right out of nowhere is a real shocker. I will say even though I love Off the Hook, Deep Cut deserves this spinoff after how they were treated in Splatoon 3.
@Polvasti Splatoon 2 had a good single player campaign and a fantastic single player DLC. Splatoon 3 also has a solid single player. Idk if they're worth full price just for the story mode, but I can recommend them if you can find them discounted.
Didn't see this till just now haha, what are everyone's hopes/predictions?
I am going to throw some things out there:
1. This is likely the datamined game codenamed Spiral we heard about a while back!
2. I noticed a snowy, tropical, and volcanic island in the trailer, so I'd guess the boat thing we see will let us move freely between hubs!
3. FRYE. That's it, more Frye is all I wanted lol
Game looks decent, but when I played my sister's copy of Splatoon 2 for two hours about two and a half years ago, I absolutely sucked at the motion control aiming. Probably won't get this because there are many other games (without motion control aiming) that I already intend on playing, but I hope that whoever plays this game has a good time with it!

@ShieldHero It's a spinoff in a completely different genre, so gameplay could be extremely different. And if there is aiming, I assume mouse aiming will be an option.
