Oblivion Remastered on all other platforms was abandoned quickly after release. No patches were provided to fix serious performance problems on other platforms. Do you think the Switch 2 port will be abandoned like the other platforms? Especially considering the Xbox job cuts. The link below is a discussion from Digital Foundry about the issue.
Hate to say it, but expecting fixes for a Bethesda release is a fool's errand. You will always be disappointed if you wait for Bethesda to fix their games. (except I guess Fallout 76 where it was so bad they basically had no choice)
I'm expecting bad things for this version as the previous versions were in a terrible state and the Switch 2 has less resources. The only Bethesda game I have on Switch and Switch 2 is Skyrim and Skyrim Anniversary and that has 110ms input lag in portable mode and feels very heavy and sluggish even compared to a 30fps xbox one version despite using the 60fps mode. I did google input lag on Switch 2 Fallout 4 and there were no answers that came up about the input lag there. I would definitely wait for the reviews and definitely wait for a price decrease.
I mean you can buy Oblivion for Xbox 360 and play it on Xbox One for less than the launch price here as Xbox Ones are so cheap now. Better still buy the original PC version and mod it with upgraded graphics and engine improvements for very little money or maybe wait for Skyblivion. It's probably going to take 2 years to get this game in some sort of rough shape on Switch 2 and by then it will probably be super cheap too. Paying full whack now for a likely unplayable game seems the worst possible option.
