do you think people are gonna scroll through this thread in about 3-4 years time and wonder why we're talking about that one WarioWare character so much XD
I'm just now looking into this thread and I'm wondering the same exact thing.
@Keman I find your commitment to the notion that the next console isn't happening any time soon, let alone this year kind of commendable. Like I definitely disagree with you but I like you're sticking to it. I don't think anyone's arguing the Switch is going to keel over the second the next console comes, just that the transition to new hardware is imminent. It's not really the best idea to ride out the wave all the way until you hit the sand, and despite continued sales, both of your examples got successors within 6 and 7 years of their launch. (and the Switch turns 7 this March, so even that lines up well)
Can I do a completionist run of video game history? (It's still being made so we'll see)
Currently Playing: Unicorn Overlord (Switch)
Next Up: Sand Land (PC)
Panic (Reality)
My takeaways after the last several weeks of leaks and rumours:
Time of next Direct: Who knows
Confidence in Switch 2 March announcement: 30%.
March is logical for several reasons but it was suggested by people who were totally wrong about other directs so my confidence wanes.
What it felt like looking at Nintendo communities today:
So much for a shadow dropped partner showcase lmao. Nintendo moving it back because of the Xbox podcast seems out of nowhere since I think there’s been State of Plays on the same days as Directs before? Either way I would’ve liked to have a Direct but I’m satisfied with Splat 3 and Side Order/any other games for right now until the Switch 2 gets revealed. At this rate I’m just hoping we can see Prime 4 this year one way or another
The fact that Nintendo has aired Directs on the same day as Sony presentations, yet supposedly postponed a Direct because of Microsoft's relatively subdued announcement regarding their future (which was far less drastic than it was being hyped up to be), doesn't make any sense. They didn't have any reason to care, really. Which is why I don't believe it...unless it was due to Microsoft, in their scramble to prepare an announcement, suddenly insisting that Nintendo had to push back an announcement or two (probably not all 4) for the Switch ports of the games they're bringing over, and Nintendo obliging. Doesn't sound that realistic, but it's more plausible than them getting cold feet over a rather lowkey event from a competitor.
Given how wild the rumors were getting with Microsoft, I could definitely understand them wanting to clear that up before Nintendo goes ahead and announces anything.
Still, if another week rolls by without one, we'll be able to safely say that that wasn't it.
So, Pyoro has spoken and the way he has, it actually implies, that the Partner Showcase was planned for this week, hence "Act II - Rebirth", at least imo.
Looking forward to next week then.
Pyoro said he wasn't excited for the Direct in the replies
However, he has confirmed Penny's Big Breakaway will show up (and presumably get a release date), and liked a comment asking about Level-5 having stuff to show...so that already sounds better than half of the 2020 Partner Showcases

Just trust in Pyoro, he knows what he is talking about
We don't even know if Pyoro has any access anymore but it is true saying nothing means saying nothing false. 😆
I do feel like every other supposed leaker is just BS-ing this month though.
Well the "doesnt have access" thing didnt age well lol...
Space and Games are similar. Space is endless and new stuff is out there waiting to be discovered. Games are always being made but the creativity is different from one game to another and so many more ideas still haven't been imagined or created yet. (That came out better than expected lol)
@DiamondCore Nin10doland is so annoying, I love when he is wrong.
Switchforce is one of the only things worse than him...

@DiamondCore@GalaxicGlobe At this point I’m beginning to wonder whether Miyamoto is actually Pyoro 😂 Maybe he’s just real bored he just started dropping leaks on Twitter

@GalaxicGlobe I wouldn’t say he’s that bad, atleast unlike switchforce/nintendo prime, nin10doland actually posts more creative videos other then “Nintendo Direct has been LEAKED #87” sometimes

Most of the big Nintendo Youtubers are just- difficult to watch. They're all pretty much annoying and have nothing of substance to actually say. At least those who cover "leaks." The only channel I actually even really can bring myself to tolerate is Arlo, and that's because he actually has interesting content. Even if I disagree with his takes at times. He doesn't make sensationalized thumbnails, and doesn't actually lie to his audience on the constant unlike the likes of RGT85, Nin10doland, Switchforce, or NintendoPrime.
