Would be great to have another 'shadow drop' akin to the MP Remaster announcement from the previous direct....

There is something really great about this kind of marketing - "Here is news on an exciting project we've had in development that you had no idea about. BTW - it will be available this evening for download"

Old school Zelda port/s perhaps?

I got $50 in eshop cred from fathers day. A direct this week with some shadow drops would be very welcome.

I hope we get a remake of Eathbound that looks like it's manual. But there are tons of SNES games I would like to see reimagined (it's my second fave console after Switch now.) F-Zero, Chrono Trigger, Shadowrun (although Microsoft own that licence - man, they own everything these days...)

I never drive faster than I can see. Besides, it's all in the reflexes.

@Giancarlothomaz Doesn’t necessarily mean there’s no Direct. The two things can coexist.

@Giancarlothomaz Personally, I think you are reaching a bit. It is a tour around the US to allow people to play some Nintendo games (and advertising them, of course). What that has to do with Nintendo Directs? Also, I think we already knew about this tour before if I remember right.

Given that Nintendo hasn’t supposed 2 of the same type of system (home or handheld) at the same time since SNES and N64

Bit of an arbitrary measure, also debateable that the SNES was supported alongside the N64 anymore than any other console transition. The SNES was officially discontinued in 98/99 and the N64 launched in 96/97. By comparison the 3DS was discontinued in 2020 and the Switch launched in 2017. There's always a couple of years overlap and, if anything, the transition from the SNES was shorter than some others

And in any case, who says that they won't support the Switch platform beyond the life of the Switch itself? It's an entirely different world in terms of backward and forward compatibility than it was in generations gone by. Hell, there are new releases being sold at retail right now for the PS4. It's been almost 3 years now since the PS5 released and they're still releasing games that are compatible with the PS4. Console generations simply don't end like they used to

So what time would this hypothetical Direct get announced? Would it be 2PM Irish Time like last time on either today or tomorrow or something different? 🤔

@Fizza Is Irish time one hour behind U.K. time? it’s 3pm over here. If it did get announced. I think mini directs ads shadow dropped though. I assume they’re also at 3pm U.K. time

@FragRed It's currently 1:15PM for me, I thought Irish and British Time Zones were the same?

@Fizza I thought so too but then you said announcements were at 2pm and I thought I’d best ask. I think normally they are announced at 2pm but it’s BST hours so it’s 3pm instead.

I think it might be best if Ireland just folds itself into the UK to resolve this timing issue!

@jump Pretty sure last time we tried that, it didn’t end so well

@FragRed I have a good feeling about it working out this time though!

Directs are mostly announced at 3pm UK time but other announcements have happened at 2pm UK time plenty of times. So 55 minutes to go if a Direct is being announced today.

This past hour or so has been agonizing with waiting. If we don't get one on Thursday, should we just write it off as not happening this week?

WOW. There it is. I honestly was not expecting them to hold a Direct until September, so this is great news to hear!

Ok, so a new 2D Mario and a SNES remake is guaranteed since a trusted leaker talked about it (might be FE4)
There are talks about Detective Pikachu, something F-Zero related and MAYBE Persona 3 Reload but I doubt it.
Any other guesses / wishes?
