@PikminMarioKirby I'm with you. If you check out some of the photoage, we can see some of the Easter Island themed enemies from Super Mario Land on the Images for the Double Cherry Knock Out Tour. (https://www.mariowiki.com/Mario_Kart_World#Courses). Like I said, I would love more Luigi's Mansion, it was a shame Luigi never got a course named after him in MK8 Deluxe, only the Battle Course.
Honestly, a bit sad that it's only 15 min long. Was hoping for more. I guess we'll see how much they cram in.

Oh yeah, definitely excited to see who else they have for the roster. I am hopeful some MK8 and MK8D characters come back, since I had a lot of fun using some of them. I especially liked using Tanooki Mario, but I’ll admit that it would be better if he was just an alternate costume this time. It would make a bit more sense.
The roster does seem to be focused on newer racers, mainly with some of the minor characters and enemies being playable, so maybe if they have more characters to show they’ll be new to the games? Apparently there were reports (or rumors) that the roster was going to consist of around 80 characters, which counts alternate costumes but I do wonder if the costumes won’t be separated in the final release.Though, I kind of wouldn’t be surprised if some of the characters would be DLC, if they are doing that here again later down the line.

If you’re curious, the character in my PFP is Flippy from Happy Tree Friends.
Imagine if there's other areas outside the main map you can travel to based on other Nintendo IP. An Inkopolis, Animal Kingdom or Hyrule Cup. A mini open world map with 4 tracks. Take the hovercraft from the Mushroom Kingdom and sail east to Inkopolis City. Imagine how great it would be flyiing around Inkopolis in a helicopter. I don't know if flying a helicopter has been confirmed but one has been spotted. I'd wager it can be taken control of. Racing in the skiy over Animal Crossing's island or in the water of Lake Hylia. That would be top tier gaming.
This could be DLC for down the line. Cups based in other Nintendo worlds with some new characters too. Considering what they did with MK8, I'd say there's a good chance they might do something like this.
I'm excited to see what they got. I really hope there's some cool battle mode stuff, some more wacky characters, and most importantly, fun stuff to do in the open world.
I hope they offer new cups, karts and characters as free-lc updates a la Splatoon/CTR Nitro-Fueled. I think it'd be a good way to do what the Booster Pass did without alienating those already put off by the price tag.
"Now I have an obligation to tag along and clear the area if Luigi so much as glances at a stiletto."
My prediction for online: they will host online events and challenges like in F-Zero 99, where you can also unlock new outfits and customization stuff.
MKW has World Tour theme on their track.
I saw USA, Japan, Italy, India so far.
I wonder which else countries will be represented on this MKW?
Have someone take a closer look on MKW World map?
Because I saw some World culture theme on each tracks.
I think Nintendo may be laying too hard into not showing things, or there are HUGE missed opportunities with open world missions. How are there not lines of trash cans, boxes, hay bails, or corfields, trees, brick walls set up for smashing through? I know there's a big world here, but I can't help feel they're majorly dropping the ball with MKW with common sense fun things.
I guess the P-switches and whatever the panels and other secrets are gonna be variations of platforming and racing challenges. Nice way to integrate the Mario focus of platforming into a Mario Kart game. Actually sounds really unique and charming
I'm confused, that Direct didn't really announce anything new except battle mode. Instead it was a reminder of what was shown in the Direct, Treehouse Live and hands-on demo.
That Direct really just felt like those summary videos Nintendo usually puts out for an upcoming game soon before launch. It repeated a lot of information we would already know if we did the research. This won't convince people of the price tag.
Both of these are basically my opinion on the Direct. And disappointment we didn't get Renegade Roundup or Shine Thief
Looks good, sure. But nothing really screams it's worth the price tag like Nintendo was indicating. I was expecting some hidden things to be shown that would really blow me away and it was pretty much everything we've seen thus far. Unless I'm forgetting something of course. Nonetheless, I'll be getting it with the bundle, assuming I can that is.
I think it was meant to be more so a review for those who didn't watch the treehouse, yes. But I do agree it felt more like a video they would post on their youtube channel rather than a "direct"
More so disappointed with the lack of pre-order date yet.
