So, this is coming out this Friday, and I'm quite excited about it. The reviews are positive, and I really liked the demo too, based on it this is gonna be one of the most gorgeous games on the Switch 2. Even the occasional framerate drops and other minor performance issues don't really bother me. MHS 2 had similar issues too, and they didn't affect my enjoyment of it. These are turn-based RPGs after all, not twitchy action games.
I have to say though, that even though I really liked the monster collecting and battling aspects of the previous two games, as well as their colourful NPCs, both of them had fairly standard fantasy plots that got kinda repetitive and drawn out during the second act. So I'm really hoping this one has improves upon that. We'll see.
Only thing that's bothering me in this game are mostly the invasive battles...I hate that I'm getting fed up with them and looking up guides just to figure out how to do a freakin' "perfect double attack" or something. -.-
I get the fights are puzzles, but this game is not clear sometimes on what to do.

Keep it PG-13-ish.

Double Attacks and attack types are not needed at all and the least important thing. So you don´t really need that puzzling.
Wyvernfell(Stagger) > Element > Weapon Type priority is all you need.
So basically, stagger your enemy as fast as possible(hammers) while using the element it´s weak to via switching monsties. Attack the monster parts your weapon is effective against to break it for even faster stagger(no extra part damage increase needed). Weapon Type advantage does double the damage i think.
Monstie elements can even be increased in damage via gene bingo board.
Stamina is also very important, it´s always better to use skills with lowest possible stamina usage to have continuos rotations without requiring a normal attack.
Double attacks can only be used when the enemy is targeting you with a line, so you rarely can utilize it anyway. But to have doube attacks or attack type advantages still here and there you can just always use the same attack type as your monstie with every attack, so you can win head to head randomly or even have double attacks sometimes, when you have to use a normal attack with the main char. Feel free to use a normal attack every time the enemy targets you with a line, but you shouldn´t really focus on puzzling the enemies moves/attack types - it´s impossible if you you are not a super addicted fan of that system and it´s better if you just let the RNG do it´s thing.
...Um...I was talking about invasive battles...>_>
I can't remember which one involved the "perfect double attack" thing, but yeah a lot of them were not exactly clear, and I had to look up guides on them. it basically required you to do a double attack with a skill that has perfect in the name. Like...wtf? It didn't say anything about skills. lol
Another example that drove me insane was Shogun, apparently it required the target that was taking the invasive attack to have Def Up M, and...yeah I dunno. Had a hard time trying to figure out how to increase it M or something. (maybe it was L? I can't remember)
I agree that the invasive battles can be way too cryptic. Like, I just did the one where the monster attacks you with burning nails, and your team members say you need to attack with mud. So I spammed a mud attack at the monster and it even doused its nails, but the fight just kept going on, and I was never able to win it. After trying this several times I had to look up a guide, and it turns out you can't just use any mud attack, you need a specific one that only monster has innately (I was using a different monster) – but the team members never said anything about that, they just said I need to sling mud. It would really help if they'd give you some extra tips if you keep doing something wrong.
