Mario Kart World was just announced for Nintendo Switch 2. Who's excited? After Mario Kart 8 this comes as a refreshment. I think this is going to be an open world. What do you think about it? Like the Need for speed games.
The other day, I was going to say I think it will be Mario Kart World, because the january trailer gave me forza horizon vibes, but I honestly thought they'd stick to MK9. XD
Based on the trailer, I'm skeptical that open world roaming works for mario kart. Forza Horizon works because you can drive impossibly fast and smash through bushes, small trees, and stone walls, it can be so out of control and fun. That's what makes it compelling. I don't really see much of that in MK World trailer, and MK only goes impossibly fast for moment with a mushroom. I'm worried roaming will be a shallow novelty. I hope I'm wrong. Really want to see more.

The Forza like ride anywhere aspect is what sells me on the game. I’ve realized that racing doesn’t hold my interest for long (I still haven’t beaten everything in 8DX and I have had it day1) but wandering around suits me fine. Otherwise as nice as the game looks I need to finish 8 DX first.
