I’m just throwing this out here but does anyone have any suggestions about getting Klonoa to run on Switch 2? Every time I try to launch it I’m met with a crash. Does anyone else have this issue?
Nintendo claims to have tested the game for Switch 2 compatibility and even labels it in the eShop as 'supported - game behavior is consistent with Nintendo Switch'.
@PepperMintRex I just looked at the error history uploaded to my Nintendo account and it didn't include this crash error so I'm a little worried Nintendo doesn't know about it. Nintendo.com apparently has no way to report things after hours and the bandai namco help page doesn't even have the word Klonoa.
I guess this info could be mentioned in this thread so it doesn't get lost in the general Switch 2 thread... My physical version of Klonoa works fine on the Switch 2, but after it came out on Switch 1, at some point it got a 854 MB patch, which updated it to version 1.01. And apparently the digital version doesn't have that patch, it's still at version 1.0. So that could be the explanation why the physical game runs without issues on the Switch 2, whereas the digital version doesn't.
I attempted to find a place on Nintendo.com to report this type of problem and after going in circles all I found was a bot which asked me for my phone number, didn't ask what the problem was, and never followed up.
I then reported the issue to Bandai which has a much saner support process. I explained the issue, they asked me for a video and then they said someone would look into it but it might be slow. Might have also been a bot, but at least it was a bot which appeared to be doing a useful process. If I hear back I will post here.
If anyone figures out how to contact Nintendo that would probably be good too since they are the ones who made a (apparently inaccurate) Switch 2 compatibility list.

Presumably this issue would be very easy for Bandai to fix, all they have to do is release a patch that updates the digital game to the same 1.01 version the physical game is at. I hope your message gets through to someone who can actually make the decision to patch the game.
Yelp I’ve gone ahead and imported myself a physical copy of Klonoa. Downloaded the physical-exclusive patch (no clue why) and it works like a dream. Bandai, Nintendo, whoever needs to get this sorted out. No one should have to go out of their way just to play a game without it crashing on start up.
Bandai said they would look into it but may or may not be.
Nintendo eventually tried to refund the game to me and then realized I bought it too long ago and then gave up. In the mean time, Nintendo still has it listed as 'works perfectly on Switch 2' on the eShop even though it literally can't open.
@FishyS Can you confirm that your digital version is stuck on version 1.0? If that's the case, you should follow up with Bandai Namco and let them know that the digital version is stuck on 1.0, but the physical version has a 1.01 patch that fixes the issue. That seems like something they should be able to action on. They'd just need to figure out why the digital version isn't getting the 1.01 patch.
Alternatively, you could try contacting the Japanese branch of Nintendo with this form (https://support-jp.nintendo.com/app/ask_other/p/8980/). I used it to report a bug with Gunbird 2, which ended up getting fixed in the most recent firmware update (20.2.0). Though I had to use Google Translate since the form says they only accept inquiries in Japanese.

Yeah, I told Bandai the details a few weeks ago. They asked for a video which I provided.
@FishyS noticed Klonoa is on sale for eShop, is that right that it won’t boot up on Switch 2?
It certainly doesn't for me. And at least a few other people I've seen online . The DLC bundle is on sale too... that might run? Kind of a flip of the coin since some versions run and some don't.
