So, I asked Target (over chat) if they have an estimate of when I can expect the console to move from "Preparing to ship" to "Shipped"...and they can't tell me anything. I've gotta be honest, getting a bit concerned about when I will get the system.
In the US, I ordered from Nintendo when I received my invitation on May 14. UPS says the label has been created, but they don't have possession of the package yet. A signature is required for delivery.
@sethfranum the point isn't to track orders for people but to let people know if you got yours on route but another person who bought at the same place doesn't... Then you may have a problem. It's info sharing not problem solving.
Target seems like they screwed me over. They kept saying, you will get it on the 6th, despite it saying I'll get it on the 11th. I keep trying to get them to respond. But I got the feeling they lied and everyone who ordered from them is going to have a sad weekend.
@Misima they haven't lost me as a customer (because it's super close, and basically my only local option) - but they have lost any future pre-orders from me, if there's a significant delay. But being in the state of "preparing to ship" still, at 1pm, hours before launch, has me frustrated.
@Lazz They should have shipped them out yesterday. There's no excuse for this. If you ordered at freaking midnight you should have the system in hand on the launch date. There's no excuse.
@Misima absolutely - I could have pre-ordered from Walmart or Bestbuy, but because I got through on Target, I spent my time there...going through the trouble of pre-ordering, I would have rather been given the option to pick up in-store, or go through a different option...
@FragRed no idea, the only explanation given was “Unfortunately, due to unforeseen logistical delays, we are unable to ship your order today and sadly your order won’t arrive on the official release day as planned, and for that we are deeply sorry.”
Maybe they have more than one collection and there was an issue with the lorry so that collection never happened? Who knows could be anything.
They’ve been great with me in the past so I’m not going to hold it against them, they said they will ship it tomorrow and get it to me as soon as possible so hopefully Friday.

@Lazz I didn't want to go to the store for my own personal reasons. But I assumed paying for top shipping that target would be like Amazon and get it to me on the same day, if maybe later in the day. I am so disappointed. If I could go to the store I'd be trying to go to GameStop rn.
@JamesS2612 That's a lie. They have been telling me for months it would be the 6th and I complained about it and they said months ago they were not going to get it to me on the 5th. They gave me a discount but now they still haven't gotten it shipped and I'm thinking they were lying the whole time. If it comes on the 11th I will never spend another cent with target again.
