Topic: Has Anyone Actually Bought the Switch 2 Camera?

We're just over 6 months in and I have heard nobody ever talk about the Switch 2 Camera, using it, or of anyone out there on the internet who actually has one besides gaming journalists. The most I've heard anyone talk about it was to say how stupid it is, and to be fair, as of right now its pretty pointless and dumb.

But, I really do think it has some potential. I know Nintendo could pull out some fun new game that's even maybe a new IP, bundle it with the camera, and price the thing at $70 so you get the accessory and a cheap $15 video game. There was WarioWare Snapped on the DSi, Face Raiders and a Chibi-Robo on the 3DS, the Wii U had nothing but it was the Wii U. I refuse to believe that the half-baked Mario Party Jamboree add-on is it, and if the Camera has not been selling as hard as Nintendo wants it too, I'd imagine they're gonna want something to move unsold units.

It's awesome actually. Not necessary, but having a small corner of the shared screen show my face and allow me to see their face makes Gamechat much more personal, and feels as close as it can get to gaming together in the same room.

It's just a webcam so you can use basically any webcam, doesn't have to be the official one. And I'd say most people would have one floating around. I'm fairly sure you can even use an Android phone if you want

Personally I had a random webcam plugged in for a while but I ended up unplugging it because the cable annoyed me. Also at this point there aren't many uses for it outside of showing your floating head in game so or on an overlay in GameChat. Will be interesting to see if there's some whacky indie game or something that uses it that comes up
