NEW FIRE EMBLEM!!!!! And it builds on Three Houses! Will need this downloaded into my brain please! Also so glad Sothis is regaining her self. That had been bothering me for years. Hope Rhea is canonically around (though if this is in the far future, she may be in hiding). Nice to know there are other Nabateans or their kin around. Can’t wait to buy the OST !

Does sound like Sothis has a different VA in Japanese though. But that may just be her sounding “adult vs eternal child”.

This was the best thing revealed in the Direct, since Three Houses is one of my favourite video games of all time. Hopefully it'll have the same depth of characterisation as that game (which they seem to be aiming for by including Sothis as a character) combined with the mechanics that made combat so smooth and snappy in Engage.

Best part of the direct and another great game added to my list that I want in 2026. I like that it seems connected to 3 Houses in some way.

There was a woman who was using a gun as a weapon in the trailer. People were saying that this is a prequel to Three Houses, but it seems more than likely that this game is going to be the same world but in the far future.

@VoidofLight Why would people in think it's a prequel, was there anything in the trailer to indicate so? As for the gun, in Three Houses Those Who Slither in the Dark had pretty advanced sci-fi technology, so I don't think something like that in this game necessarily suggests it's set in the far future.

@Polvasti People think that it's a prequel because Sothis is an adult instead of a kid, and in the original game she disappears after fusing with Byleth.

@VoidofLight It's true that Sothis disappears, but if you choose her as your romance option in the end, she comes back. Also, I don't think what she looks like in this game is much of an indicator of anything, since neither the child nor the adult humanoid body is Sothis's true form, what with her being a divine dragon and everything.

Immediately a much better first impression than vtuber rejects: engage. Hope they lift a lot of the gameplay elements from that but if we never see another fire emblem design from whoever made those atrocities, I'm good.

@Dom_31 I haven't played Engage yet. But, the designs aren't that bad.

@TimelessJubilee Most of them are fine, but... some of them are pretty bad.

I like how a lot of the weapons seemed like the relics from Three Houses. Same bone-like construction, at least.

New Fire Emblem? I will be there day one.

I didn't even like Engage that much, but I just love the core Fire Emblem loop, I am pretty sure that was my most played Switch game and by like a significant margin.

@TimelessJubilee they get infinitely worse once you realize the characters are all cardboard cutouts with one personality trait.

FYI,

Durability returns, and you can dismount as well (dont think you could dismount in recent entries but I cant remember for sure). Also, characters have a range of "Arts" that cost HP to use. Interesting.

You can count me in, too. Another Fire Emblem game in the style of Three Houses is exactly what I want.

It'll be interesting to see if we get the social sim side of the game, the branching storylines and the sheer level of unit customization that all went by the wayside for Engage. While I still enjoyed that game, Three Houses just had so much more potential for the future development of the series.

@JaxonH FE Hype! You could dismount before. I am trying so hard not to pick that trailer apart. Especially since I still have got to finish all the 3H routes. Something about FE always puts my brain into over analysis mode.

As the rare fan of both Three Houses and Engage, I am glad we are returning to Fodlan, but a little worried about the combat. Engage had the best mechanics in the series, whilst 3H’s combat was fine, but not the main strength of the game. In the trailer we can see arts, battalions and gambits, but not class bonuses, and, obviously, engage skills, so I’m worried that the game might be trying to discard everything from Engage instead of keeping its strengths.

Shade on engage aside, I'm kind of hyped for this one. Three Houses was great, this seems like a related story, whether that's far in the past or future doesn't even really matter. It's gonna be interesting to see either way, I think.

Also hope they actually pronounce Dietrich correctly. Would be ironic if "Alucard's" name is butchered like people still do with Richter's. 😅
