Having the same issue. Tried everything from this topic and others, unsuccessful. Can't play Mario Kart World online anymore...

@Misima all of them and more. It is driving me crazy.

@drc007 Then you should contact customer service And send the dock and cords in for replacement.

@Misima I saw many players that sent the dock and received a new one and the problem still occurs. I think I'll wait a little more for a possible handshake update.

I thought I'd fixed mine by making some changes suggested in this thread and one I saw on a subreddit. Unfortunately, it happened to me again last night during an F-Zero 99 game (you can probably guess how that worked out for me...). This was the first time it had happened in a couple of weeks though. Disappointing, but like @drc007 I'm holding out for an update, as it doesn't seem that replacing the dock will make any difference at this point.

@Jack_Goetz Yeah, but your warranty won't last that long, if nothing else you would get a dock that has been inspected again. So if it's a combination problem you will be taking care of the hardware side.

@Misima I understand your point, but the console and dock have a 24 month warranty in the EU. I'll wait until the next update, which shouldn't be too far away (hopefully). If that doesn't fix anything, I'll get back in touch with Nintendo.

I really don't think the dock is the problem. I think it's LG OLED TVs that are the issue. Is anybody here having this issue NOT using an LG OLED?

I started having this problem on Switch 1 when I got my new LG TV and it persists on the Switch 2.

It's the dock @LastFootnote

It's well documented now that the handshake protocol on the HDMI is very wonky. Several TV's have degrees of issues and it's down to the fact the slight variations in signal that normally don't mean anything triggers the dock handshake again. It's believed to be by design to prevent third party docks and hacking through the USB port.

Nintendo support has confirmed this to me by my interactions with them. They will take your dock, ac, HDMI and system to repair.

LG definitely is affected. But I never had this problem with the switch.

@Misima For me, this issue occurs with both my Switch OLED and Switch 2 docks, and only started happening when I got an new TV. I used my OLED dock on my old TV for years with zero issues.

If I send in my dock for "repairs", I am 99% confident it will not fix this problem. It may be Nintendo's fault that this handshake is wonky, but even if that's true, how would they repair that?

@LastFootnote That is probably true.

I think there's no way to fix a problem they want, but there's a variance issue here that might be fixed with a patch, or different hardware or a mix of all of it.

I wouldn't just give up on it.

@LastFootnote I'm having this issue with a Sony Tv from 2018 as well, it is not limited to LG TV

It’s happening on my Hisense C2 Ultra projector. The video (not audio) cuts out. My Switch 2 is connected to a Samsung Q990F soundbar, which then connects via eARC to the projector. Sometimes the video returns, but other times it stays black and requires me to restart the projector.

The issue only occurs when HDR is enabled in the Switch 2 display settings. However, the projector is spec’d to handle HDR10+ at 4K 60Hz, and the soundbar is rated to pass through HDR10+ 4K at 60Hz as well. My Xbox Series X is plugged into the other HDMI input on the soundbar and has no trouble passing through Dolby Vision at 4K 60Hz, so I don’t believe it’s an HDMI cable issue or a problem with the soundbar's ability passthrough HDR at 4K 60Hz.

Disabling HDR in the Switch 2 display settings resolves the issue, but it’s not ideal—I prefer the image quality with HDR enabled.

@Deepee I highly recommend not passing through anything else. Nintendo seems to not have designed this to handle any wrinkles.

HDMI1 is the only port that has worked for me.

@Misima Thanks, yeah I've seen a few YouTube vids showing that the S2 just doesn't cooperate with HDMI splitters or switches, even if they are spec'd to handle 4K@120hz. But my projector is ceiling mounted so I don't really have a choice but to run it through the soundbar. It all works fine with HDR switched off in the S2 display settings. I don't know why having HDR switched on causes HDMI handshake issues. I've opened a ticket with Nintendo support so we'll see what they say.

@Deepee yeah your situation sounds like you are in an unwinnable situation.

You have my sympathy. Unless you can find a way to set the switch up there, I think you're SOL. I don't think there's going to be a solution for you unless you somehow get a lot of eyeballs on your situation. Maybe reach out to a popular YouTuber to see if they want to do a video on your situation?

Experiencing the same problem. Will try some of the fixes listed.

My TV is a TCL 75 inch (R646). Switch 2 is plugged directly into HDMI 4 and HDMI port 4 is set to 'game' mode.

@gene0915 Idk about your experience, but game mode was a disaster. I should go back and post pictures of how bad Cyberpunk was in game mode. Dithering central.
