@Jsegg it's been confirmed by a couple of tech outfits, this is because Nintendo has a proprietary handshake program now that makes the dock fail USB and HDMI connections. They're trying to block off ways to hack the system through ports.

@Misima Thanks! Any advice to TCL tv? I turned off game mode and switched to hdmi 1 with no luck.

And I guess I need to solve my computer black out issue as well…

@Jsegg I would try turning off any game mode the tv has, turning off the match power state function in the switch, using only the Nintendo cables that came with the switch 2, and if it still gives you trouble turn off 120hz and HDR. If you still have the problem contact Nintendo and try to get replacements for the cables and dock.

@Jsegg Don't turn off game mode, you'll get a ton of additional input lag and your games will feel horrible to control.

But yes, do turn off "match TV power state" in the Switch settings. It hasn't happened to me since I turned that off.

@topsekret I disagree with that statement. I have an LG and the performance and quality both improved when turning off the game optimizer. The amount of dithering in Cyberpunk was cut down to almost none.

@Misima I don't know the exact model of your TV. Maybe you're right and it doesn't make a difference for that model. Or maybe you just aren't sensitive to input lag.

But for most modern TVs, you will get significantly higher input lag if you don't use game mode. That's just an objective fact.

In my experience, I only get this issue when first waking up my switch 2, which wakes up my TV. Only causes the blackout at the lock screen, so nothing annoying there. I have noticed it, on some random days, happening again while playing for multiple hours. Some days this just doesn’t happen, it’s strange

Also, I’ve noticed during that short blackout when waking up from sleep, it switches the HDMI name from HDMI to Switch 2, so maybe the TV receiving the device name and changing the HDMI name accordingly is what causes the sudden blackout

It feels like no one is addressing this.

I guess it just will never work. I haven't even seen a good article about this issue.

Nintendo is starting to lose my admiration. I'm sure they care about that...
