Topic: Pikmin Bloom

No thread on this, thought I'd make one, since I'm interested in it. Sadly, I can't play it...and I have no idea why, it won't tell me anything aside from my phone not being compatible. Even though it meets the requirements...? sighs

Well, who's trying this and liking it?

I'm still waiting for it to release.

@Octane I dunno where you live, so I dunno about that, but yeah it released here. Also cannot find any info on why my phone isn't compatible when it meets all of the requirements. -.-

It doesn't even show up in my Google Play Store, so I don't know if just my phone doesn't support it or what.

@Xyphon22 I think the best way to check is going to the Play Store via browser. I'm guessing if it doesn't show up on the app store then apparently you're out of luck...

I downloaded but didn’t get to walk yesterday. Hopefully I can go today.

I'm not sure what the objective is, or if there even is one. It seems to be one of those apps that does little more than "reward" you for getting off your butt and walking and at the moment lacks the sense of community and competitiveness that Ingress and Pokemon Go fostered. Perhaps there's more to it that has yet to be revealed.

Can you plant flowers while the app is suspended? Or does it need to be open all the time?

Really hoping to get a new phone next week...really curious about this game. Seems like I'll enjoy it more than Pokemon Go.

But yeah, Pokemon Go just gets infuriating sometimes. lol

Have played it since release and while the game does have potential, it is simply not engaging enough for me to keep coming back. I would love to see it evolve though.

Edit: OK I found the AR button on the upper left of the area where you feed the Pikmin before scalping them. Ouch. Too hard for me to see w/ those big A & R letters on it. 🤪
They are cute to feed on my living room floor, worth the public humiliation.😂

Anybody know if this game has AR like Pokemon Go? I thought the point of the game was taking pics of Pikmin walking about but I can't figure out how?🤷

My kids phone won't play it either and he wants too, big Pikmin fan, he was basically born into it. His phone is 4 years old, Android 6, and was probably only $50 new then, so at least I understand why. He's getting a better 1 for Christmas, not $1,000 better, but $200, which should run this.

I play it every day for about 10 minutes, 5 in the morning, 5 before bed, basically just feeding my Pikmin. I haven't really left the house in a week, hosted Thanksgiving, so maybe I'll put it on more as life returns to normal this week. I'm level 8.

@Octane I usually keep it suspended, can't see a reason to keep it open, so you can plant flowers that way. Though you have such a limited supply of petals to plant - I only do like 30 seconds at a time - you'll probably keep it open. The game does track you while suspended for sure. While I haven't left the house to walk anywhere I have driven around a bit, and went to see Eternals, so it tracks that, and whenever the car stops at a red light or stop sign the app seems to think I'm walking. Who needs PS+ when I can drive around. 😂

@rjejr Yeah I already figured it out. But it's best to close the app while you're planting flowers instead of suspending it. It doesn't always track you if you keep it suspended. And the game also tracks you when it's completely turned off as long as you're planting flowers. If you have a full bag, they last more than two hours, plenty for the average walk, so don't have to keep it open to check it every couple of minutes. I think I'm level 26. I'm hoping they update it soon with something new, cause it is getting a little stale.

But it would be nice if they added in Pikmin enemies, killing them would give you bonus rewards and stuff when you have the Pikmin carry their bodies back home...even the bosses would be nice. That's what I'm hoping for.

@Octane Geez level 26, I've been playing it for a couple of weeks I think, still level 8. And your email reminded me I may still be planting flowers, turned it on while walking around Target a couple of hours ago. I'm old and forgetful. I haven't found enough to do in the game yet for it to reach the level of stale. But that is a little on me, I have a Fitbit watch, I walk maybe 2,500 steps a day, and that's in my house, where I dont' carry my phone, it's really not meant for sedentary chaps like myself. I'm hoping for an update in the spring when I like to walk around outside. Like, give us some bulburbs to beat on, that's like half a Pikmi's life, beating on bulborbs until a big bulburb eats them, the eternal struggle.

With the Pikmin Bloom app (runs via GPS) you can see exactly from where the secret service or Verfassungsschutz is accessing your mobile phone. Normally, this app covers all areas of the world map that you have entered with your mobile phone. And when areas are uncovered that you have never entered yourself, then you know that the secret service has access to your cell phone. Shortly after installing the app, the exact location of the secret service was uncovered on the world map, although I never entered that area. That we are all now being monitored by the secret service is sick but normal.
But what can you do about it besides destroying your cell phone and computer?

@SKTTR That's just GPS misalignment. Happens all the time.

And if they were truly watching you, they'd use a VPN. But honestly, the idea that they're tracking each person individually is a joke, because it would be a waste of resources, and it wouldn't be efficient at all.

So you're telling me, my Pikmin teleporting regularly to the secret service building uncovering more and more of its map is every time just a random coincidence? What a relief. I was really concerned for a while.

@SKTTR Where is this "secret service building" located? And how do you know its location if it's secret?
