Already? I guess Mar10 Day's a federal holiday or something.
It's not a holiday in Japan or the US. They've dropped the new music a day early once or twice before. This time I bet they did it because there will be other non-music Twitter drops for Mario day.
Much like @Dev-N I was really hoping for 3D World.
Though I had a feeling we'd be getting SMB3 sooner rather than later with 2 and World's inclusion recently
I really hope we get a much meatier soundtrack next week though
Damn, we definitely could have got this one if we'd been more on the ball.
With the exception of the original LoZ, we probably have all the 'how was this not there at launch' games from NES and SNES now.
If we don't get a Xenoblade soundtrack (3 or 1) next week to celebrate XCX's release then I despair there must be something preventing their inclusion.
@AJWolfTill Which would be really odd considering Nintendo now fully fully owns Monolithsoft.
Let alone Pokèmon being on there which you'd assume to be a more difficult inclusion.
With rare exceptions (like the timing for Mar10 Day), they seem to select which soundtracks to upload by throwing darts on a dartboard. Not that this bothers me particularly.
I do wonder how long it might take them to add everything they are able to - one per week is a deceptively speedy update schedule.
Going by Nintendo.fandom.com there are about 700 games developed or published by Nintendo (in America) since the NES. So at the rate of 1 a week that will take (14 years).
Lots of compounding issues like what their access to stuff they published from partners like Level-5 is and the fact that the list contains re-releases.
I'd say we can maybe drop 100 of those (12 years).
Additionally Nintendo are probably/hopefully going to maintain their release cadence of ~1 game a month. So over the 12 years that's another ~150 games / 3 years.
So at the current schedule and without expanding the scope to include games from other publishers it's feasible that they won't run out of stuff for 15 years.
We will be talking about the Switch 2 successor's successor by then 😂.
P.s. there are around 90 feasible Switch games that Nintendo developed or published and we have 12 of them.
@Nintoz
Agree wholeheartedly. Not budging from my prediction. We've not had a Switch game for a month and a half and are long overdue "something a bit meatier".
Watch it be Ring Fit.
@Grumblevolcano If they do Kirby and the Forgotten Land next week for the anniversary like they did PLA, they might not do another Kirby game this week. I think my guess this week will be Paper Mario N64, but if your super theory is correct, it could be Super Paper Mario!
edit: Forgot that they did Mario 3 last week. Still gonna go with my guess, but that makes it a lot less likely.
Tetris is a cool addition and it's great that they're open to multiple inclusions a week.
...I just hope next week we get something from a more recent system!
