Mario 3D World + Bowsers Fury is likely! Same for Mario Sunshine, Mario Tennis, or Mario RPG.... Even Mario Kart Wii or New Super Mario Bros Wii/2 would be a good pick!
...therefore I am picking only one game and its Mario Kart World. Don't let me down, Mr. and Mrs. Shed (they're married now).
Mario Kart World - There's that teased MK World update incoming with the image of a Bob-omb in the Battle mode icon. Maybe MK World update and MK World for Nintendo Music come at the same time.
Wario World - I think it would be a fun twist if Wario took over for the day but with NSO games already coming that day, I don't see them choosing the original Wario Land or Wario Land 2 just yet.
New Super Mario Bros. Wii - They used SMB3 last time for MAR10 Day so maybe they pick another mainline platformer this time.
Even though it's mostly all remixes, Super Mario All-Stars would be a good choice. That, or the elusive Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury because it was part of the last big anniversary year. Both versions of Mario vs. Donkey Kong would make sense given the original game is coming, but that seems too obvious.
@squiddu-real no no, it must also include that one song from Mario Kart 64 that plays on like half the tracks. We need that one for my playlist where it’s only different versions of that song.
So I'd like to confirm that Mario Kart 7 also does the amazing thing Mario Kart 64 where it will literally play the same song because its in a different RACE track, not a different music track, when you choose "all tracks". I only listened through the original tracks, not the retro ones so I don't remember if there's repeats there, but Wuhu Island plays twice for the two race tracks, even though its the same song.
I don't know why this one person working at Nintendo has such a weird sense of humor or why this happened, but I am amused.
@kkslider5552000 There aren't any repeats for the classic courses in Mario Kart 7 because none of those courses share themes, from among the console games only Mario Kart 8 Deluxe does that with DS Wario Stadium and DS Waluigi Pinball (although the audio for those specifically is slightly different for no real reason).
Anyway it's really not that strange, the whole point of including screenshots is to relate the tracks to where they play in the game, and this does the trick better than simply naming them stuff like "3 Circuits & Wario Stadium" or "Frappe Snowland / Sherbet Land" like the old soundtrack releases did. It's also really good for character playlists, Luigi has Luigi Raceway, Peach has Royal Raceway, and Wario has Wario Stadium.
Beyond that, it also means for example that if someone mainly associates the raceway theme with Wario Stadium because that's where it plays in Mario Kart World, they can simply search for that instead of needing to think that maybe it'd be called something else. All in all it just sort of makes sense for them to do.

That makes some sense but it is still very weird and funny for a playlist to have the exact same song multiple times.
Also I ignore your points, they did it for a pun, all tracks, race tracks. This is the better reason to do something, because it would be funny.

Yes I'm really putting all of my chips in the same pot. Last year's Mar10 Day was the only time I ever guessed a release correctly (it was before I joined this site 🥲)
Although honestly, I wouldn't be too mad even if we did just get an MKW special release with like 7 tracks, lol. (Only a little pissed.) A release like that would still be full of bangers!
Looked into the claims that downloaded tracks work better recently and it appears to be true. When they added Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen, they also changed every track's data to list the download version before the streaming version. What I assume is happening here is that it pulls this data whenever you're connected to a network and attempts to play the first listed version, which was the streaming one until a week ago
Thank you for the confirmation! I was honestly considering tagging you in my other post, lol; I knew you'd probably be able to answer. This is great news! It's been pretty obvious for a long time now that the app prioritizes the streamed version for some asinine reason, I'm glad that they finally fixed that annoyance. Legit was one of my biggest problems with the app until now!

yeah, if i'm gonna predict anything it'll definitely be 3d world. not just because they probably wouldn't have two switch 2 games back to back, but the mk world ost is so, so much bigger than kirby air riders' ost, which is already decently sizable for nintendo music standards.

This sounds very promising. I've found the apps performance in general leaves a lot to be desired but having it stutter on downloaded playlists whilst I'm driving has always been the biggest issue.

Mario Vs. DK GBA seems likely but I'll throw in Donkey Kong 94 and why the heck not the Mario Movie soundtrack.
