okay, well, i'm content with this pick!

not super happy, mind you, just a lot more lightly positive than... nearly every pick in the past two months.

This is just like adding Animal Crossing: New Leaf after the New Horizons update and Switch 2 announcement. This was the most obvious choice after the Living the Dream Direct, even though they usually don't make the obvious choice. Don't mind me... I quit on this hopeless guessing game again!

Anyway, Tomodachi Life's soundtrack is surprisingly lengthy for what it is. Here's my top five.
1. Afternoon on the Island
2. Compatibility Tester (International Ver.)- Japan's piano version and the music box version are also nice.
3. Staff Credits
4. Tomodachi Quest: Battle
5. Tomodachi Quest: Boss
Honorable mention: Food Mart, just because I always got a kick out of how silly and peppy it is whenever I quickly popped in to get a Mii food.

Obvious enough, but no points for me because I yet again didn't go for the obvious pick lol

This game is far from my cup of tea but I am always happy to get new songs for the night time playlist. So no complaints.

Drat! I was wrong again!

But also not drat! Because I wanted to listen to some of the music from this series in preparation for Living the Dream anyway 🤣!

Oh wait... Tomodachi Collection is already on there, and I've listened to it once already... 😅

I was so sure that more people would have guessed this game this week but I'm glad at least someone did!

Time to guess for next week. I feel like it absolutely has to be some version of Mario Tennis. However, there are far more than 3 options. I guess I'll choose the original 2 Mario Tennis games and Mario Tennis Aces.

@FishyS Mario Tennis is a good guess. I'm still thinking N64 game so I will guess Mario Tennis 64, Kirby 64, and idk maybe Mario Party 2.

@NoodleWad To clarify, I wasn't counting the virtual boy game because I forgot it existed. The two games simply called 'Mario Tennis' are the N64 and GBC games.

So I meant N64, GBC, or Switch versions of Mario Tennis.

After over a year of simply shuffling my default favorites playlist (which has now built up 469 tracks), I've finally made a few custom playlists! Thought I'd share them here, for anyone who cares. (Special thanks to @Eel for showing me how to do this lol)

First up there's my "bangers" playlist, titled "Elite Beats". This is basically a selection of my top songs from my main playlist, the ones that I consider 10/10 S-tier tracks. it should give you a perfect visual of what type of songs I like with a compact sample size. Contains 66 tracks at the moment.

Next up, I've made a "pep/wake-up" playlist ("Morning Coffee"). It contains a lot of generally upbeat or "active" songs. The type of music that I prefer means that this playlist was pretty easy to put together, and I even managed to scrape together over 50 songs not on my normal playlist (because I would find them too annoying in that context) for this one. Track count is 125.

I also have a "calm/sleep" playlist ("Nintendo Beats to Attempt to Fall Asleep to"), but I'm gonna leave that one out for now, I think most people here probably already have better nighttime playlists than anything I could make. I don't listen to a lot of slow or quiet music, so my pool is a bit limited on this subject!

Finally, a more fun one I threw together is the aptly-titled "Why do I Hear Boss Music?" Beyond the obvious, this playlist contains a few panic/escape themes, such as the ones from the Metroid games, the speedy/race comets from the Mario Galaxy games, or the Guardian theme from Breath of the Wild. I kind of started it as a joke, but I've been quite enjoying listening to it! It currently has 133 tracks.

Note: these playlists are designed to be shuffled. The order that I have them in is fairly arbitrary, it's just to make it easier to add stuff from new releases.

I hope this post isn't oversharing, just thought I'd share for anyone who is maybe interested!

Thanks for sharing this! I'll put 'Elite beats' on after the Direct. You have some noticeable holes (Tears of the Kingdom, Fire Emblem Awakening) in this playlist but it looks good. I'll report back.

With that in mind I was thinking we should make a community playlist but didn't think things could be shared.
If we can do it, I thought we should each nominate 5 'underrated' tracks, whether that's deep cuts from beloved games or bangers from more niche ones. All for the benefit of exposing things we might be overlooking.

So you're suggesting that we all suggest 5 'underrated' tracks, and then one person creates a playlist out of all those songs and shares it here? I'd be up for that 😀. I'll start thinking about my favorite songs on the app now, just in case that does end up happening.

I definitely approve of the Galaxy playlist 😀

It's wild that we already have enough Rainbow Road themes to make a decent playlist, even if it's got a few repeats. Your playlist will be eating well once we get Mario Kart World and its nine RR themes lol.

Might I suggest also adding Lunar Colony (MK8) to that playlist? It's fairly Rainbow Road-adjecent.

Hey, thanks for checking it out! Yeah, these playlists are limited to games that I'm actually familiar with, I'm kind of telling on myself for how relatively few series I play by sharing these playlists. 😅

(I have little doubt that I'd like a lot of Splatoon tracks if I had actually played those games! Maybe I should skim CaleBoi25's playlist 🤔)

EDIT: I do like Tears of the Kingdom's OST, I just didn't have anything that stood out enough to me for the "bangers" playlist. I did consider Colgera's theme at least!

I like the idea of a community-built playlist! It'll be a little tricky picking out "underrated" tracks, I feel like people tend to have a poor sense of how popular something is, but I can definitely pull up a few examples. I've already thought of some good candidates. I'll share my own suggestions a bit later!

We will all have blind spots. We will have grown up on different gens of Nintendo and gravitate to some series more than others. It's why I thought the community playlist would be a fun experiment.

That was the main one that stood out from my playthrough but others have risen the ranks since I relistered to the OST.

Yeah I don't want to over influence people's choices but if you are picking 'Jump Up Superstar',
'Gerudu Valley' or 'Jungle Japes' you've maybe missed the point.

Here are my five for a potential "community playlist", they don't seem to be mentioned much on the internet and they are some of my favorites on the app:

Lunar Colony has one of the most emotional guitar solos of any Mario Kart course it's insane lmao
