@Operative2-0 I think the Fire Emblem Direct is a good way to set expectations for this. It was 19 minutes long and had:

  • Echoes (6 minutes)
  • Switch tease (1 minute)
  • Warriors (2 minutes)
  • Heroes (10 minutes)

@DarthNocturnal You might as well wait for the Direct and rename the thread after the game's official title.

You wait a month and play the game. Maybe cosplay as a whale.

Looks like one of those games you'll be waiting a looong time for projects to complete or to earn those tickets for the mining site, etc. Not for me.

@Octane yeahhh anything that uses dungeon keeper monetization mechanics is a big fat no from me as well. Honestly, I'd prefer a gacha type system. I find the idea of paying for the luxury of speeding the game up to be completely abhorrent. I'm sad Nintendo used this model.

I played for some time today and I gotta say that it's better than I expected. Collecting items almost always pays off and there's consantly some new stuff to do. It might not be good to play it for three hours straight, but pop in for quick bursts to complete missions. I actually like it because it works perfectly for situations when you don't have much time. I got my character to level 2 and unlocked some furniture along with fences, so if it keeps up, there will be too much stuff to collect and not enough time to get it.
Some times are actually more generous than in console games from what I remember. Fruits and fish recover quickly.

I'm enjoying it so far, I'm level 7 and have just finished my 2nd house upgrade. It's going to take a long time to attract new villagers to my campsite! At first they were reasonable but now they want 3 or 4 items each and they take a long time to craft.

It's a shame that I'll have to redo this when it releases in the UK but it's worth it so that I can save my progress. I'm not wanting to restart every time I change phone.
And what I found out from Mario Run is that saves transfer from iOS to Android which is a nice feature, some other games don't do the same.

I actually really like the game so far. It's definitely similar to the freemium city builder type mobile games, except it's actually fun. There's a good amount of things to do while you wait for upgrades, like going fishing, bug catching, or building friendships. It still keeps the Animal Crossing charm and doesn't come across as a cash grab game too much, besides maybe the limited items. It's the kind of game that I'll open up every morning and grab some fruit, complete some requests, and start some construction projects. It seems to have more longevity than their other mobile games.

Friggin epic then! I want to keep my phone away from games due to space limitations. I am going to get me a tablet for this game and Hearthstone then. By the way, do you happen to know if you can transfer saves from one device to another?
