@Morphtorok I meant updated.

@Geonjaha I totally agree with you, but I do still think it will be fun disregarding everything else annoying.

Seriously people don't be so judgemental of my opinions!

I've been playing through a load of old Zeldas I never played before and I'm a bit Zelda-ed out. I agree this doesn't look too exciting - just looks like a new MacGuffin. I was really hoping for some fundamental gameplay shift rather than The Legend of Zelda: Doodle Drummer or whatever. Hopefully the Wii U game will really shake up the formula.

Still, haven't seen much and realistically it's going to be excellent at worst. I just hope the franchise fatigue doesn't set in like it has with Mario. Then again, I'm still gagging for Majora's Mask 3D.

Any word on it containing the original LttP too? That'd instantly make it more attractive as that's the only main series entry I haven't played.

Majora's Mask 3D would be great, but I much rather have a new title beforehand. I think a re-release of MM is inevitable, let's just hope it really is, I liked MM over OoT. It's probably my favorite Zelda title.

There is only one aspect of the Mario franchise becoming fatigued and that's the side scrolling titles. Although.. I did just finish Super Mario 3D Land and that did seem a little tiresome but that's just because I don't think they tried too hard with it.

I have to say that when I saw the Nintendo direct, it soarly disappointed me. Most of all was the new Legend of Zelda. Before I start "complaining", I have to say that I think it would be awesome to play in the old world of ALttP, and it could have been really great. Now for what I thought wasn't cool. First, the round smiling bouncy things. I mean, they look like something that should be in a Mario and Luigi game. Second, the new blob monsters. They are way too thin, and are SUPER shiny. Definitely not the best choice to change on of Zelda's most iconic enemies. Overall, the art style is really childish, and it totally reminds me of Nintendo Land. I think they should keep it cartoony, but not make it childish.

Wow you ain't much of a Zelda fan are you? So far this game looks to be the purest essence of what Zelda originally was. And it looks gorgeous. Expand your mind a little.

It's Wario time Yaahhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Eh, the new Zelda didn't really amaze me. I wasn't a fan of the Link to the Past artwork, but I suppose I can give it a chance. I doubt I'll like this one as I have a much harder time getting into 2D games and with Oracle of Ages/Seasons hitting the VC soon I'll have plenty of 2D Zelda for awhile. I'll still give it a chance, but since it's releasing this holiday it'll have a lot to compete with.

My SD Card with the game on it is just as physical as your cartridge with the game on it.
I love Nintendo, that's why I criticize them so harshly.

I'm absolutely positive those were from previous games. Perhaps Minish Cap? I can't remember which, but I do remember seeing them.

@Morph I'm pretty sure they're just Buzz Blobs.
Edit: never mind, I checked the Zelda wiki, they're buzz blobs, changed it.

Actually, nope, they're older than chuchus.

They're called Buzz Blobs and they haven't changed at all since their introduction. They usually appear only in 2D Zeldas and are usually electrified.

Bloop.

They are from a previous game and I'm pretty sure it's LttP. It makes sense anyway. I haven't played it in years though.. will probably have to again before this comes out. Wish they'd release it in 3DS eShop sometime before the new one releases.

When I first heard that it was top down, I felt a bit disappointed. After I watched the gameplay, I was blown away; this game looks genuinely enjoyable.

I like the way the dungeons have so many floors; as you reach the higher floors, the depth becomes greater. Overall, the game looks much simpler than the console games, yet it still seems to have a lot of depth in the gameplay.

Of course the Wii U Zelda will be glorious, but this 3DS title is what we should have on a handheld. I wouldn't want this game to be too similar to the Wii U title; that would detract from my enjoyment. It's better to have the handheld title take a different direction. I can't wait for it's release.

If you hate smiley faces....

do you hate laughing? o.O

do you hate happiness? O.o

if someone smiles at you do you tell them they don't like them because they're smiling and and using a smiley face and they're childish for doing so? lol

I'm just messing of course, but still of all things, a smiley face has turned you off?

I don't hate 2D Zelda's - All my favourite ones were 2D, I'm just saying that this Zelda game so far really isn't getting me excited at all.

I think Mario is overexposed at the moment. Galaxy, NSMB, 3D Land, Paper, Kart, Tennis, Golf, Minis on the Move, Sports, Dream Team, Party, & Sonic at the Olympics. Fortune Street!
I thought 3D Land was great but the guy needs a rest now.

Yeah, I kind of agree with you now when you say it like that, haha. Also I may have spoke a little too soon about 3D Land.. I had just finished the main story after I typed that and it was sooo easy it just didn't feel right, but now I'm playing the special worlds so the difficulty is picking up and I'm liking it more. As long as they don't come out with Link Soccer or Link Hockey I don't think the Zelda franchise will get too over-saturated. After all, it has been 2 years since the last new title has come out.

You won't find any 2D hate from me. The 2D Zelda games will forever be greater than their 3D successors, in my opinion. The original LoZ, ALttP, and Oracle of Ages are some of the best games ever made....period.

Also, Minish Cap was the last proper 2D Zelda, so we've been starved for 8 years!
