Topic: Unaccepted Credit Card

So I have this... friend, we'll call them "T00BiSH" for now, and he's trying to nab some DSiWare from the eShop before Nintendo decides to delist them again, but for whatever reason, his credit card info isn't being accepted, not on his 3DS, Wii U, or Switch and he has no idea why, so they asked me to seek help from someone who knows what's going on. For the record, "T00BiSH" is american.

I'll go on here to speculate on your issue, in case any of it is news to you.

If you haven't made an eshop purchase on the 3ds/Wii U/Switch since April/May 2020, they did a security upgrade back then. Afterward, Nintnedo ID's are no longer valid, and you had to log into your nintendo account, and I think re-enter credit info possibly make a new password? Forgive me if my memory is fuzzy what was required after the security upgrade. You'll see in the FAQ page, they say you'll have to link your Nintendo ID to your Nintendo account on nintendo's website. But I think your speediest solution here is to contact nintendo, if my info, or someone elses here, doesn't solve your issue.

If all else fails, just buy a prepaid eShop card.
