Topic: Need help connecting my switch to internet

I know this is gonna make me sound like a clueless old fart but my switch was having a problem getting connected to my wi fi. I have home wifi but i can't get a connection on my switch. I'm using my own router but since i have Xfinity am i supposed to use the User ID and password that Xfinity set me up with or the one that's printed on the router itself?

When i try using the user I'd and password from my internet provider it won't even find my connection.

Sorry when it comes to technical stuff i get a little confused. I'm 45 give me a break. In my day nobody knew what a dot com was LOL.

@Truegamer79 In the US, I've always used the password printed on the router. The router's ID name and password should be on printed on a spot on the router. I use fios, but I magine it's the same regardless of internet provider.

That did it! For some reason my xfinity user I'd and password wouldn't register a signal. I put in what's on the router and it popped right up. Weird.

I think the other ID and password you got is for if you have to log into your router to adjust technical router settings. It's possible you may never have to use that.

I've never had to do that myself. But if you've seen people from UK making posts here saying they have good internet, but can't play Nintnedo games online, or they keep getting kicked out of matches, I think those are scenarios in which a router setting has to be changed. There's a way to log into your router settings from a web browser and make a change.
