I have an Internet Connection, and can use apps like eShop and Internet Browser, but when connecting to the internet in a game like Mario Maker or Badge arcade it gives me error 106-0502. I checked and their isn't any maintenance or issues with the servers according to Nintendo's website.
Playing: Super Mario Maker, Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon, Xenoblade Chronicles X.
Amiibo: Kirby, Mario, Samus, C. Falcon, Luigi, Mega Man, Pac-Man, R.O.B., Mr. Game & Watch, Duck Hunt, Shulk, Modern 30th Mario, and Ganondorf.

I have a very similar problem. I can connect with all my devices just fine. My Wii U, phone, other consoles, and such never have any problems to speak of. But for some reason my N3DS' connection has always been unstable. It'll stay consistent for maybe 30 minutes or so before it completely cuts out. Other times, it'll remain stable for an entire 24 hours as well - but then it will once again cut out. This is almost always between the 5pm-10pm mark, and even changing the channel of my modem/router can only counter the problem for so long before the above keeps coming into affect.
Sorry to jump in and steal your thread @TheJmaster but I was starting to get frustrated and figured asking around on Nintendolife was my last option. Then I saw your thread and thought it best to see if anyone can offer some insight - to both your problem as well as mine. Maybe its common, maybe it's not. Was just curious on what people thought.
Never take anything I say seriously. S'all you buddy. ;)
Mainly play on my Switch but I have 3DS, Wii U and PS4 as well.
Fave game series include: Pokemon, Smash Bros, Splatoon, Disgaea, Bayonetta, Dragons Dogma, Phantasy Star & Arena of Valor.
I had this problem with animal crossing new leaf I couldn't update my dream address until I turned the router off then back on again. Been fine ever since. Maybe try that.
