Ive tried to remove Visa card, and ive tried to use a different card.
This happened after i bought 2 vouchers on eshop and bought 2 games with them.
Only thing i can see that might have bugged, is that my Visa suddenly shows germany as location. My visa is from Norway. Happens with my MasterCard also. Is this a Nintendo eshop problem since it most likely happened because of me buying the 2 vouchers and IT then bugged, or do i need to Call the Bank ?
Pro tip to anyone reading this, don't attach a credit card to your nintendo accout, use paypal along with 2FA on both your paypal account, and nintendo account.
Paypal will also work in other regions if you wish to use their eshops.

I went through a period where the eShop refused to let me pay with my credit card. Other people on the Internet seemed to have the same problem (getting the same error message as me). There was no problem with the bank, and while Nintendo could see the error, they had no idea why it was happening or how to fix it. They just said to wait and keep trying periodically. Eventually it did randomly start to work again, but it took weeks, not days. In the interim, I bought eShop credit to use when I found good deals on it, and I also used PayPal (tied to the same exact credit card that wouldn't work directly on the eShop, haha).
It's definitely worth it to call Nintendo if you're having a problem. They'll help if they can, but even if they can't, they're still pretty decent to deal with.
@sebas150015 Just purchased through the South African eShop using a Revolut card (I'm in the UK) and it worked fine. Not sure if it makes any difference, but used a web browser rather than on the console as I don't have my Switch at work with me. Had to approve the transaction via the Revolut app though
I'm still having a problem. Over 6m and counting. Region is ok. CC company said no issues. Tried 3 diff cards. Still no luck. I just buy eshop cards now. π€·ββοΈ
@JRJalapeno Using paypal for your nintendo account/eshop is a workaround for many card issues. I use paypal for Switch eshop.
Also, Nintendo of North America support is very good. I've used them four or more times myself. Their phone number only displays when they are open, which is Seattle WA work day hours.
I just linked PayPal with the same CC. Works perfectly. Still ridiculous since I've been using the same CC since the switch first came out. Thanks for the replies!
Yeah, ever since Nintendo implemented some security upgrade circa spring 2020 to combat a rash of nintendo accounts getting hacked. Some people's started having issues with their credit cards being accepted. The recommendation was to contact Nintendo if it happened, but paypal was the workaround. Here's an NL article from that period. https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2020/04/nintendo_switch_pla...
I haven't been buying a lot of games for a while now. Been busy with my 18m old π. Mine just stopped working and never fixed itself. Thank God for PayPal

Thanks! I've been using PayPal now with no issues. I called both of my cc companies and no problems with either. Just Nintendo being wonky again π€·ββοΈ
I had the same problem for making TOO many purchases from the Eshop....i just had to wait around 30 days before making ANY purchase.
(as @sebas150015 said)
Sorry for resurrecting this thread, but I have encountering the same problem, not just with my main account. But newly create account as well!!
Omg... how can this happen with new account though??
I am in the UK and have tried many UK issued cards, none get passed the 9001-2470 (web) or 2813-2470 (on console)
I even have my other newly created account having the same issue with region set to HK, using HK card trying to shop on HK eshop... still the same error... worse thing is HK eshop do not support PayPal !!!
Have anyone got this fixed? or had to wait for it to fix itself?
@jackymg You are welcome
I actually also tried to make a second account just for that. Needless to say, it failed and i had to wait for those AGONYSING 30 days before purchasing anything.....
should I hold the temptation and stop buying even using PayPal (with my other accounts in different regions)? Or just stop trying card payment would be enough to reset this βsoft banβ.
I contacted Nintendo before posting here, but they are quite useless on this topic.
