Topic: Your top RPGs

Legend of Dragoon #1. Yup. Crono Trigger, Dragon Quest 8, 9, Crono Cross, Final Fantasy 6, 9, Champions of Norrath, Baldur's Gate:DA, Skyrim, Mass Effect 2, Knights of the Old Republic, Secret of Mana.

Champions of Norrath isnt an RPG its a dungeon crawler. Thats like saying Diablo is an RPG

Anyway heres my list

Secret of Mana, Earthbound, Super Mario RPG, Paper Mario, Pokemon, Lost Odyssey. I don't play RPGs that much. These aren't in any order.

Mother 3, Paper Mario 1, Xenoblade, Chrono Trigger, Mass Effect 2

I would normally agree, except the term 'RPG' is extremely loose in the world of video games, and dungeon crawlers tend to be RPG in nature. Moreso than a typical JRPG where I can't even create a character. Dungeon crawlers are born from true pen and paper RPGs.

Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga and Mega Man Legends.

I'm not an RPG guy, so those (so far) are the closest I'll ever be to an RPG title. They're that good.

Soooo close, but I just can't think of another game I'd consider top material. I've played a lot of RPGs, but few can compare to these.

Oh ya, the Mario and Luigi games. I didn't play Inside Story, but I enjoyed the other 2. Chrono Trigger was ok, I suppose.

Persona 4 and Final Fantasy IX are my two absolute favorite RPGs, but there are a whole crapload of games vying for third-place in my heart:

I'll try to avoid listing two games in the same franchise (although I'll split up the various Mario RPG series).

• Kingdom Hearts (Got me to actively look into the genre more)
• Super Mario RPG (First RPG I played. Didn't beat until years later)
• Tales of the Abyss (3DS version rekindled my love for the genre)
• Final Fantasy X (First real "epic" I've played)
• Pokémon Gold/Silver (my childhood)
• Paper Mario (first RPG I beat)
• Chaos Rings (legitimatized mobile gaming for me)
• Crimson Shroud (very unique)

I wouldn't necessarily say these are the best of the best, but they are the ones that really resonated with me, and left a lasting mark.

I haven't played a ton of RPGs but I really enjoyed these:
Pokémon main series (particularly Red/Blue and Gold/Silver because of childhood nostalgia)
Golden Sun and Golden Sun: The Lost Age
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance
Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story

Chrono Trigger was my all-time favorite RPG...........until I played Xenoblade Chronicles.
