@AnVold I need to get a robot vacuum cleaner of sorts; I think that would help out a lot. I clean some stuff more than twice a month - a few surfaces are daily - but it highly depends. I cook a lot at home mainly to save money and have a better handle on what goes into my mouth lol. I don't normally get very elaborate with recipes, but I do try some fancier stuff when I'm in a creative mood. I like reading novels, typically in the fantasy, sci-fi, thriller, classic Gothic horror (just finished Robert Louis Stevenson's The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde), mystery, or historical fiction genres. Some occasional manga too. I'm not picky when it comes to animals, but I'd really like to get a cat. I enjoy dogs too, but I don't feel like I'm home enough sometimes to properly care for one since they can be quite needy. Especially the types of dogs I prefer since they usually require a lot of exercise.

Currently playing: Dragon Quest I HD-2D Remake (Switch), Hades (Switch)

I just play whenever I'm off, don't have any specific "schedule" though.

Good... good
Now play Dragon Quest

Interesting to read everyone's thoughts! Seems I'm not the only one!

Although.. been off today, fired up the Switch around 8am, went to the movies at 12, got home at 3, played till 6. Best of both worlds, seven hours worth of TOTK and a trip to the movies. And the night is young!

I have quite a scheduled way of playing:
I work 8-4 Monday to Friday, so at lunch Monday-Thursday I play on my switch for 30 mins, then make my sandwiches and read book for the second half of my lunch. If i finish my sandwiches and I have 5-10 mins until the end of my lunch I might go back to the switch. On Fridays I use up the entire one hour lunch break playing on switch, I normally break it up to play the current game and then the last 20 mins play Fall Guys.
My wife works shifts 8-4 or 10-6, so when she does 10-6 I come home by about 4.20 do the dishes (dont have a dishwasher) , that justifies me playing on game until she gets back from work.
She also works some Saturdays, so I normally play but have a break of an hour to get some lunch and watch a TV show.
So that is my gaming life currently
But at the end of September we are going travelling for four months, so I will probably take my 3DS with me, but my switch will stay at home.

I work 5 random days every week so my schedule is kinda messed up, but im usually working 9-3 or 3-9 so if im on an early shift I come home have a late lunch around 4 ish and then play until dinner if I have nothing else going on, and then if im on the late, I get up nice and early, around 7am, have a healthy breakfast and a coffee then I game for a few hours before lunch (squeezing in a shower and a get ready routine at some point) I go to the cinema a couple times a week usually so if its a movie day then that takes up my gaming time, I also sometimes get art commissions which will also take my gaming time

With no partner and no kids, outside of family and friend obligations, these hands are often idle. A couple hours a night on workdays. An hour after work and an hour or two after dinner. Weekends will vary, five to fifteen hours, maybe. It depends on other plans.

I recently increased my work hours to buffer inflation and maximize a pay rise, which has done wonders for my financials (although I keep buying Switches and expensive games, which kinda nullifies the benefit 😆) but eaten in to my free time. In my previous job I was pretty demotivated and would occasionally bunk off for gaming purposes. Can't do that so easily now due to increased responsibilities, and being a bit more motivated, work-wise.

Also got kids and a partner who's not into gaming at all. Luckily I've managed to groom my kids into gaming, though that does mean I play more party games and Fortnite with them, at the expense of my backlog.

All this means that currently the gaming time I have to myself is generally late night through the week, plus early mornings on weekends. I'm tending to fall asleep more during gaming nowadays because I'm making myself stay up later to play. I'll generally build up a sleep debt and then have to take a night off once a week just to catch up on sleep.

You guys had me at blood and semen.

I have two jobs, one freelance and one gig-based, which means that in pretty much all instances I set my own work schedule.

Starting two days after TOTK came out, I stayed with my delightful in-laws out of state for a couple weeks, so my most important gaming task was to figure out how to juggle my TOTK hype and quality time with that side of the family.

Back when I was an athlete in school, I developed the discipline of getting up around 5:00 AM. I figured it was time to bring that skill back to the surface, and it worked wonders. My in-laws are late risers and so is my wife whenever we go to visit (about 10:00 AM). Five hours a day was more than enough to satisfy, and I was free to spend time with everyone on the busy days or I was free to watch my wife take her turn on TOTK on the more relaxed days.

I kind of just…kept the habit. Now I get up every day around 5:00, get ready for the day, play from about 5:30 to 7:00, and get to work. After I’m done working around 2 or 3 - or sometimes earlier on weekends - I’m free to spend time with my wife, friends, and/or family (and all of these people often play video games as well, so there’s even more time for games when we get together).

That turned out longer than I thought it would, but it made me feel more grateful for how good I really have it, being able to live by this schedule. Thanks for making this topic.

P.S. I also love when people find out I get up at 5:00, and find out that it’s not because I hit the gym or work on a side-hustle but literally just the best time for me to play games.

@Tyranexx a robot vacuum cleaner is a very helpful thing. It's saves 20-30 min of my time every week. I'm also into classic thriller and horror (like Edgar Allan Poe and Howard Phillips Lovecraft for example). I also like to read fantasy, historical books (non-fiction), books about video games (like Console Wars: Sega, Nintendo, and the Battle that Defined a Generation by Blake J. Harris) and manga in different genres. Cat is nice choice if your time is limited. They are also cute and fluffy, live long enough and more independent then dogs. They also feel happy and run to meet you when you're back home.

@AnVold Only problem I can foresee with a robot vacuum cleaner is my house is roughly 80% carpet. Could cause some issues from what I've heard. I've also read some of Poe's work and enjoy it! Not really into Lovecraftian horror, though I find some of the mythos around it interesting. Seems like we share some reading interests. Didn't mention it before, but I do like nonfiction books regarding certain periods of history. Especially regarding the Industrial Revolution and WW II. I love animals, dogs included but cats are definitely top tier for me lol.

@Tyranexx oh, don't worry about it. I have a carpets in every room except kitchen.
It's seems so! I like mythology, atmosphere (his novella "At the Mountains of Madness" is stunning!) and his Dream Realm. I know many nonfiction books about WW II period, but I can't remember any of Industrial Revolution period. Yes, cats are the best
Are you waiting for release of Ys X Nordics too?

@AnVold I might have to look into a robot vacuum then. My sister and BIL have one and like it. I do like classic mythologies as well, mostly Greek/Roman, but Norse and Egyptian mythologies are pretty neat too.

Unfortunately I have to wait for the release of Ys X Nordics. Do I want to? Nope! I'd rather play it right now lol.
