My gaming forte are Rhythm, Life Sim and JRPG games. Since I like Rhythm games by the most, I like to play DDR and other BEMANI games by Konami. I have pretty sharp ear so I can quickly following the rhythm from harder songs. I like to play Wii Music since I have interest in Music so I like to create my Custom Jam with different musical instruments.

I like Life Sim games such as The Sims games, ACNL / ACNH since I have interest in Art and I like to play games with designing aspect, beauty and great looking environments.

I like to play JRPG games too as I have played FF III NDS, FF IV NDS, FF VIII, FF IX, FF X/X-2, FF XII TZA, FF XII, Fantasy Life, Yokai Watch games. Every JRPG games have their uniqueness from Battle system and leveling up system. It has something to do with Math. I like JRPG games with cute looking characters and a lot of things to collect like Yokai Watch games as I can experience with different team anytime.

I've always had a knack for platformers, so I would put that as my main genre. I've played stuff from Mario to Celeste to Shovel Knight, and have never really had trouble with any of them.

For sub-genre, definitely Metroidvania games. Hollow Knight is my second favorite game of all time, and I'm also a huge fan of Metroid. I think it's just because of how fun the exploration and puzzle-solving elements are.

Open world. It’s the type of game I always wanted as a kid and I really enjoy just getting lost and exploring, even if there’s not a lot going on sometimes.

I suppose JRPGs, although I've been playing plenty of other rpgs for awhile as well....

I would say platformers and rougelikes, and shooters as well, but im not to sure, as I will try to get better at a game I truly want to get better at.

I guess I'd say JRPGs are probably the big one, though I also traditionally like platformers, and in recent years have been getting more into hack & slash action games.

That's not to say I don't play other things however (I usually play one or two shooters each year as well).

For me, it's usually a toss-up between JRPGs and Action/Adventure games. It really depends on the game or franchise though. I'm willing to try almost anything, though I'm not a big fan of sports games and how utterly insane shmups can be. Other genres I touch less are fighting games/beat-em'-ups and racing; I don't dislike either of them, they just don't hold my attention long. I also don't play rhythm games much on account that I'm just bad at them. XD

For me (it’s actually kinda surprised me) I really like hack and slash/some fighting games like Hyrule Warriors AOC, other Warriors games and Smash bros. I also really like RPG/open world ones like BOTW, Mario Odyssey, Oceanhorn, Paper Mario TOK, and other Zelda games. I’m not much of a platformer person though- I don’t really care for Mario Bros or Kirby necessarily (I mean I’ll still play them occasionally but not as often). I also don’t care for tactical games that include a lot of strategy or ones that I have to sit down and play for a long time before saving or actually doing something.

Mine are platformers and JRPGs, but I can get into most types of games unless I feel like my time is being wasted.

I'd probably say Action Adventure games mainly and I do like a puzzle game too - Picross is always a massive time sink for me.

I wouldn't have said I was a huge fan of Racing/Driving games, but some of my most-played games over the years have been racing games - arcade conversions like Outrun etc on the C64, Stunt Car Racer on Amiga, Metropolis Street Racer on Dreamcast, Colin McRae and GT on PS1, Mario Kart Wii, Need for Speed on PS2/3 and Forza Horizon on Xbox.

So, I guess, Racing games too.

I really like JRPGs and Zelda-style adventure games, those are some of my favourite games when I have the time and energy to play them, but my favourite genres overall tend to be ones you can just pick up and play more casually without having to pour hours into them, like rhythm, puzzle, and especially platformers.

Puzzle games for me, especially with a great story. I also like JRPGs and visual novels.

The PSVR is the best VR system on the market today.

Your forte is the type of game you’re good at, right? I wouldn’t say I’m particularly strong in one genre over any other. I most enjoy RPGs (including SRPGs), action-adventures and Metroidvanias, but also play some platformers, puzzlers and sports games, the odd beat em up and shooter.

I’d say I’m fairly weak at driving games (because I don’t like them much - if I practise I’m usually as competent as any typical player) and heavily animation-based third-person action, a la Monster Hunter and Souls games - though I do actually quite like those.

For me, it's definitely platformers, classic-style FPS, business management/city sims and arcade-style and kart racing games. I come back to playing these the most, as well as just good at them in general.

I grew up playing a lot of platformers, Mario, Sonic, Kirby, and various cartoon based ones, so I tend to be good with them, same goes for kart racers. Kart racers, I first played Super Mario Kart when I got my SNES one Christmas, I did terribly at it, by the time Christmas was over, I was driving around the track. I also did well in games like Diddy Kong Racing and Crash Team Racing. My brother also owned Speed Punks on his PlayStation. I still play the Sonic & All-Stars Series and Team Sonic Racing.

Arcade racers, because I found myself better at them than sim racing games. So arcade racers are my way of racing. I use to play some in actual arcades, mostly Sega Super GT and Daytona USA, the latter I eventually got for Dreamcast. Speaking of sims, I find myself pretty decent at stuff like Theme Hospital, Theme Park, Roller Coaster Tycoon, Sim City, and the more recent Two Point Hospital.

As for classic FPS, I just always liked the faster unrealistic style of most 90's and early 2000's shooting games. I always prefer them because I have the knack for searching every nook and cranny for secrets. I don't hate modern shooters at all, but those classic ones just did things differently. Also I had demos to Star Wars Dark Forces on Mac (was included with a Star Wars game dad had for the Mac) when I was younger, it made me appreciate what computers can do with games graphics (though I played the Mac ports), having played SNES, Game Boy, Game Gear, and Genesis at the time.

You name a genre and chances are I've at least dabbled. Jack of all, master of none. I play video games for the appreciation of the artistry necessary to bring these products to life and in my hands. I usually play games on easy and I don't hesitate to tap out if I'm challenged to the point of frustration or if the game is just plain boring to play.

That said, I do have favorites. Sports (racing > baseball > basketball > hockey > murican football > golf), fighting (arena > 2D), beat'em ups, metroidvania, rpg (all subgenres; action, turn-based, srpg, crpg, dungeon crawler, looter shooter, etc), and shmups.

Games like Radiant Silvergun, Super Metroid, TES V: Skyrim, Panzer Dragoon Saga, and NBA Street Vol. 2 would probably be my all-time top five favorites.

It used to be my absolute mastery of shoot em ups and platform games with my flea-like reflexes.

Now I have the reflexes of a stoned sloth, all is a mystery.

(And not really, but I was pretty good at some games way back when)

JRPG (Tales series, Xenoblade etc.), multiplayer horror games (Phasmophobia, BIGFOOT etc.), party games (Mario Party/Mario Kart/Jackbox etc), and more or less anything Nintendo.

Now that I think about it, totally shooters.

Good at? Racing games. Not Mario Kart, since that can be exploited like crazy, especially with 200cc courses, but simcades like the F1 series, and Gran Turismo.

I love RPGs too but most times I'm average at best. But for enjoyment they're a forte for sure.
