Hey Mario lovers! I don't know if this is the best part of the forum for this but it seems like the best fit.
Welcome to a brand new voting game! I hope people will want to join in with this cos I think it will be really fun, although I realise it might be confusing at first so please let me explain:
On this game, you will see 3 rounds of heats. Heats are groups of randomised characters, and all you have to do is rank each character on each heat from your favourite to least favourite. The results of each heat are decided on which characters get the most and least points. In other words, it's the score of each character that matters, and it's the score that will make or break their chances of getting any further in the game. Each heat has a 3 day deadline in round 1, but voting will be extended a extra day in each further round. After the deadline of each heat, a new heat will be put up with a new group of characters and the results of the past heats will be uploaded too. The 5 characters with the most points on each heat will automatically move to round 2, while the 4 with the least number of points will be eliminated. Each 6th place character will go to a wildcard vote, where they will battle it out with other 6th place characters for a second chance. There will be two winners of the wildcard vote. All characters from the heats, their scores will be visible on Round 1 but this will change from Round 2 onwards to build up suspense! Some heats might be weaker or stronger than others, but that's just totally random so don't worry about that too much. After the final vote has ended, i'll do a results thread which will eventually reveal which character got the highest score, so has been named Your Favourite Mario Character 2022! If you want to vote but are still unsure how it works, feel free to ask me via message (or vote, since that's one of two ways to vote)
I tried to include as many characters as possible from the main games, the spin offs, and the RPGs so please don't be disheartened if you see someone you expected to see is missing. And please don't have a go at me. This was a mammoth task to put together so i would appreciate if people would be happy with what they do have. There will be a lot of heats in round 1 though, so there's plenty of characters to go at! I tended to avoid characters who only appear in one game, unless they were a main protaganist, main villain or were playable. All the Kong family and some of the Yoshi series characters are eligible, thanks to being in some spin offs. But only Wario is eligible from Warioware series, thanks to the other characters never appearing in a Mario series game. I know some people might have thought this would work better as a poll, but there are a lot of characters and i think it will be interesting to see who gets ranked where.
To vote, please comment on the thread or send me a message. All private votes will be confidential. If you don't know who a certain character is, I recommend ranking them bottom of your vote, unless you absolutely hate another character from the same heat.
Lesser known characters first game will be in brackets after their name to make things easier, if they only appeared in one or two games but were still prominent. You don't have to type out the brackets too though.

Please rank all 10 characters from your favourite to least. The 5 with the most points before deadline will go straight through to round 2, the 6th place character will be a wildcard and the other 4 will be eliminated. Voting on this heat will end Tuesday at 5pm. I'll be back then with the 2nd heat and the results of this one. Happy voting!

I thought this would be a big hit but if there's not that many votes in the next few heats, sorry if anyone is enjoying it at all i don't want to let anyone down and I feel bad saying it but this is really hard to do anyway and I'll just stop running it if the votes don't go up by the time we get to heat 4 as the clear lack of interest despite so many views is sad to see
