Yankees going down in the playoffs, or not making them at all, is always a high point of the sports year for me! They're my most hated sports team. By itself, it's almost enough to compensate for every Colorado pro team (except for MLS Champs Colorado Rapids) sucking royally this year. 2011 is one year their quarter of a billion dollars payroll didn't buy the World Series (when the bleep are we getting a salary cap?)! Now, like to see the Brew Crew or Rangers win their first World Series. Always like to see teams win their first title above all else (unless it's a Colorado or Oklahoma team). Buh bye, Yankees! yay!
The top seeds in the NL and AL are now gone. There is no AL East team in the ALCS. A team that hasn't been to an LCS in almost 30 years going. This after the wild card craziness on the last day of the season. Detroit, Texas, Milwaukee, or St. Louis will be the World Series winner.
I thought it was bad for Colorado fans right now. But, how bad is it to be a Philadelphia sports fan? For Philly, the Phillies dream team didn't pan out, the Eagles dream team isn't panning out, and Ryan Howard appears injured last game of the season. May only be worse being an Atlanta sports fan. They lose the Atlanta Thrashers NHL franchise, Braves blow it with a huge wild card lead, Falcons don't look great, and their WNBA team lost in the finals for the second straight year. When things go bad for sports cities, they go BAD!
Oh yeah. The Detroit Lions are 4-0. (head spins) Tech, you have Lions and Tigers, and Octopi (Red Wings) in Detroit. Are the giraffes winning too?
Its really nice just to see other sports fans here!
We could have a rematch from 06 with the tigers and cardinals or Texas could get back for another crack at it! Or the brew crew could come out of no where and steal the show! It will all look much clearer in the coming days! Just no more rain please!! Oh yeah go Lions!!

If I was only ever able to have Monster Hunter and EO games in the future, I would be a happy man.
This was the closest thing to a baseball thread we had this post season, and I want to remind everyone the Yankees lost, so I'll use this.
All I have to say is, God, if you exist somewhere, should my Colorado Rockies ever go to the World Series again, please let it be against the Buffalo Bil... uh, I mean Texas Rangers!
Kind of sad, actually. 50 years and no titles. I'm no Texas fan in any sport. Still, one strike away from their first championship TWICE... Nobody's ever failed to win a World Series that close. Not sure I've ever seen a more snakebit team in all the years I've watched sports. Kind of seems like teams, such as the Cards, with a history of winning titles have mojo or something, while teams who've never won are bleep out of luck. Seen so many examples of this, most recent examples Texas, and Butler Bulldogs. Neither with titles, and still don't after two straight title games each. Then aforementioned Buffalo Bills who lost 4 straight. Rally squirrel didn't hurt the Cards either!
Anybody else here root for the Seattle Mariners? If not, here's a good reason to: They're owned by Nintendo of America! Guess the Ken Griffey Jr. games were just as much to promote the M's. So, among American League teams, I cheer for them by default, since there's no other team I really like there (except maybe the Indians, being a fan of the movie "Major League"). Sadly, they're one of only two teams never to play in a World Series (and don't look to anytime soon). DOH, Reggie! Have to wonder if Nintendo of Japan owned them, if they may have some titles by now. Maybe not, but they'd at least get to play Xenoblade, The Last Story, and Pandora's Tower in the clubhouse (rimshot).
