While I am glad that Cody finally got his moment, I didn't like that they threw in Cena and Taker. Other then that it was a nice ending to his journey so far in WWE.

I thought the cameos on night two's main event were the best use of legends in WWE for ages. They have always been bad at using these old timers who go in the ring to nearly kill each other (Taker vs Goldberg), embarrass themselves (Brothers Of Destruction vs DX) or feed them the current roster (Goldberg vs Fiend) and they were still doing it a few months ago with CM Punk who's been almost constantly injured for years (this is a real danger, if someone injured picks up their opponent they can drop them on their head when their body gives) and letting The Rock have the main event of 'mania out of nowhere so some run ins to make the match fair square and pop the crowd was cool.
Night one was a bit meh, Ripley vs Becky and Sami vs Gunther was good but everyone else was fine to rubbish. The main event didn't need to be that long could have been a case of less is more and tease of the future, especially if some of that time was given to other matches which a lot felt rushed. Night two was great and lived up to what you'd expect from 'mania.
I'm looking forward to how Drew is gonna murder Priest for the title in Scotland and the crowd is gonna love it!
Weirdly I thought Mania cemented that I'm just more into AEW now. Because this show ruled, but its still too late for me to be fully invested in all of what WWE is doing anymore, despite it being better than most of what I watched of WWE in the past. If this isn't gonna make me wanna regularly watch the shows again, nothing will.
But it was awesome. Very much like Mania 30 where it was far more about the occasion than the match quality (though the average match quality was good, at worst, so honestly better than Mania 30), but the occasion was so gigantic and well presented that it didn't matter. I am surprised they went so far with all the title switches though, I thought they would've saved some more for later.
Match of the night for me was Liv Morgan vs. Rhea Ripley I think.
Lots of good long term storylines cooking right now!
What do people think of the Judgement Day civil war? I want them to battle for the rights to the name like DX did at Fully Loaded 1999! They were one of the best groups in recent history, but this is an interesting development.
I don't even care that it is very similar to The Bloodline war brewing. Both are reasons to watch right now.
Summerslam was better than the last couple of shows but I think I'm just a bit done with WWE. Not out of frustration, just out of acceptance its not for me anyway. I have AEW, I'm fine with that alone, but most of WWE doesn't interest me anymore. Which is a shame since its better than most of the time I did still care about it, but what can you do?
I surprisingly liked Drew vs. Punk more than most seemed to. Not an especially high end wrestling type of match, but it was put together extremely well and did the special guest ref stipulation better than most.
Speaking of which, AEW right now is honestly the best its been in more than 2 years. Hope the numbers start reflecting that, because they've been doing mostly great work across the board without most of the issues AEW has ran into since Punk's first injury. (read: most of the stories are exciting on some level and I actually want to see what happens next)
Sadden to hear about the death of Kevin Sullivan. As a fan of WCW back in the 90s it was he as head booker had some of the best and worst booked matches in wrestling history, who could forget Dungeon of Doom and the Yetah. Still as it's been noted that he ended up booking his own divorce when he entered a feud with Chris Benoit.
Still another legend has passed may he rest in peace and thoughts go out to his family, friends and fans.

So it looks like all of WWE's library wil be available on Netflix starting in January. This will be nice since I have been wanting to watch some stuff from the attitude era mainly some of the PPVs lately.

So anyone going to be watching Wrestlemania this weekend? Myself I am debating mainly I just want to see John Cena's supposedly last match but to be honest I haven't watched any WWE in about 6 years. I might just watch the highlights or something. Maybe see who also shows up.

Night 1 was decent. Good to see some title changes for sure. The main event was solid, but I don't understand why every main event in the last 10 years has always turned out to be a finisher spam fest. That's my only real gripe with modern wrestling. I'm looking forward to night 2 though.
@NintendoByNature I enjoyed it for what it was. I only caught Charlotte and Tiffiany Stratton match which was good, I was surprised that Tiffiany won and not Flair. Then again I haven't watched WWE in 6 years so I am guessing there was a reason that they had Flair put Tiffiany over.
And I was able to see the main event with Punk, Reigns and Rollins. Part of me was hoping that Dean Ambrose was going to show up and though that it would be cool especially during the powerbomb through the table spot. I know he's contracted with AEW as Jon Moxley but those characters are different and it would have been interesting to see him pull it off. If anyone could he could. I also liked the vignette that they did for CM Pack including his original ECW tbeme I was kinda hoping he was going to come out to that.
The match was good but like you the spamfest was a bit annoying. I really enjoyed seeing Seth going back to his architect gimmick though. I am looking forward to night two for what it is. Mainly interested in seeing Cody beat Cena and end his in ring career.

I posted this over on Push Square originally, but probably more appropriate here, I personally found Night One really mid. Lots of the matches felt like they could have easily taken place on TV. Didn't feel like we really stepped up that gear or two to make it feel like a proper PLE Match. The one exception was Stratton / Flair, but I dunno if it was even that good, or it just stood out in such a mediocre collection of matches cause it delivered the closest to what you'd expect from a PLE Title Match. To be clear, the show wasn't horrible or anything. The final stretch of the main event was fun, some matches like the Fenix match had at least a couple of cool spots, but for the most part the whole night felt very skippable and will probably look like a significantly better show come Raw when you just see the edited highlight packages of each match.
@Tasuki yea for sure. It was a decent match even with the spam fest. Looking forward to Cody and Cena as well. Should be a good one. So long as it's also not a spam fest.
