So I keep reading articles about what was the best console but what was the worst console, specifically the one you personally owned/used?
I've used a gameboy and could not get on with the green screen. I've read it was acceptable back in the day. Maybe it was!
I've also read the games were good but I never put up with the green screen long enough to find out.
These games should be bought out in full colour!!!
Worst one? Boy could I really pick a worst console? Every console I played on I have memories with, very good ones, maybe it’s because I haven’t played on the really old consoles? But I just can’t see any of the consoles I played bad, I mean I hear the Wii U wasn’t the best but the games on it were great, and I’m sure I would have great memories with it therefore loving the console.
Literally my biggest complaint with these recent consoles is the lack of pizzazz, no backgrounds, no Eshop music stuff like that I just miss. But like I said it’s probably because I never played a game boy or n64 stuff like that.
Nintendo are like woman, You love them for whats on the inside, not the outside…you know what I mean! Luzlane best girl!

I can't really say that there was a worst console I own. There was the biggest disappointment console I owned and that would be the Wii U, and that was mainly because of the abysmal 3rd party support. While I did enjoy the console I can only play Nintendo games so often. It was a disappointment mainly how much I got it for compared to how much I used it.

I can say that the PS3 is the worst console I own!
They do not support installing the game from the disc, so they have to always spin and overwork their drives when playing physical games.
Their build quality is just bad.
And let's not forget that they had a unique architecture that was really HARD for devs to put their games on the console. That is why some ports are way worse than on the competition (360).
Then years later when i was 25, i won a VB auction on Ebay with a mint CIB copy of Jack Bros
Oh my god!
@CharlieZee You can play a lot of the worthwhile GB games on Switch between NSO and various collections.
We put up with a lot back in the day. If you wanted to play it anywhere that wasn't in direct sunlight, you either sat with it pointed toward a lamp (which washed out the screen and created horrible reflections) are used one of those horrible worm light accessories that barely worked.
Also, the screen was tiny, so we often used these magnifier accessories that made the screen look bigger (but much fuzzier)..
I loved my Game Boy but good god are those devices nigh unplayable now. Even the far better Color versions are difficult to get on with (although I still have my Pokemon-themed one by my computer, loaded with the Limited Run reprint of Shantae!)
Probably the original Xbox. When I was a kid, I used to want every console, so I had one... but only had like one or two exclusive games for it. I wasn't allowed to play Halo either, since it was rated M. I really wish I would've just been content with the GameCube and PS2 because of that.

Favorite game: Super Mario 3D World
AKA MarioVillager92. Ask if you want to be Switch friends with me, but I want to get to know you first. Thanks! ❤️
Easily the Series X. I bought the Series X to replace my dying XB1 and that there were a few Series X exclusive (as in not on XB1) games at the time that sounded interesting (Flight Sim, Perfect Dark, Fable, Indiana Jones). But as time went on, Xbox as a whole became increasingly disappointing.
Flight Sim turned out to not be my type of game, don't get me wrong it's impressive visually but I went in thinking that I'd love being able to go see the world via the game though in the end it just made me more depressed about the state of things
Live service destroyed Halo Infinite
Xbox OS became an increasing mess with the current version approaching being as bad as mobile games regarding ads
They announced stuff so early that lots of the marketing back in 2019-2021 for the Series X was pretty much false advertising
Game Pass Core is so much worse value than Xbox Live Gold and I don't care about Game Pass Ultimate
Just in general, the Activision acquisition has made Xbox a worse place to play games compared to before the acquisition was announced
I'm not selling the console and I still use it plenty due to 1 XB1 game but it's definitely the most disappointing console I've owned.
Xbox One probably. It was the time after the fall of western games and AAA games and the only game worth anything was Forza Horizon 2. Nothing to play, no mascot, no reason to even start it. You could say the same about later xboxes but this one was the first after the massive fall. X360 had something to play in the 1st phase, at least.
Bring me the sesame, miso, citrus and pepper flavored fish cakes
This is about the most controversial take ever but I genuinely feel like the Wii is terrible. Half of the games are crappy kids shovelware that you find in the bargain bins at second hand shops. The other half of the games are games dumbed down to target to a more casual demographic. Now, inbetween there are plenty of good games (but only like 2 RPGs 😭). You could argue the same for the DS, but the problem is the controller (and it's not even motion control, even though half the time it's broken). Firstly, the controller takes rechargable batteries and has no charger. Secondly, you have to plug in an cheap, very plasticky feeling analog stick with a wire. And it only has one at that. Absolutely ridiculous.
None of the systems I've had I dislike, but I was reliably disappointed by 3DS, for multiple reasons.
-Now to be fair, one of it is that I started playing less games as the 3DS era went on, partially because of other gaming elsewhere, partially because I didn't play a large quantity of new games (even compared to now) in 2016-2018, to the point that I'm still catching up on some games.
-But also it had the least amount of games that interested me compared to past systems (including being disappointed by the handful of JRPGs I played)
-My stylus either broke or vanished so I've had to rely on the not as good ones I bought at a store
-Ace Attorney, among other games, went digital only because everyone was a cheapskate during this era of Nintendo
-I started having I guess mild pain or at least some sort of uncomfortableness sometimes when playing any game that requires consistent, quick button uses for long enough. If you've done the thing where you like press the button harder under the assumption it will work better, this will probably sound less stupid to you. I do have this issue elsewhere but it was way more noticeable on 3DS.
-I like the 3D gimmick for what it is, but its too annoying to use properly most times, unless I wanted to buy a newer model that fixed that issue. Also its a shame that an entire Nintendo system gimmick was mostly just a graphical gimmick. Compared to DS and Wii's innovations, its so lacking.
-Wii U has some similar problems but it felt more genuinely inventive, was briefly a really good indie machine, had more exciting first party releases at times, and gets more of a pass because it actually failed, so its problems are more understandable compared to 3DS, which was a success.
@WoomyNNYes I hope I'm not being patronised but I did decide to give it a go as articles and posts up and down the internet love/praise this little thing. Tetris is great and I've played colour versions of both mario land games and liked both.
Gameboy color is more acceptable. The farthest back I will go is the nes.
I know it has its fans but atari 2600 looked terrible.
Microsoft's main innovation this generation has been offering a Game Pass experience via PC and streaming that's so close to parity that there's not much need to have an Xbox any more.
Anyway, so far as worst consoles go, I had a Radofin TeleSports Mini. It's a first generation console that supposedly plays four games but they're all basically just variations on Pong.
I've been lucky in that I've never been totally disappointed with a console. However, the least memorable was probably the Xbox One (I was most excited to play the Rare collection on it) which I traded for the PS4 shortly after. After that my time with the Dreamcast wasn't terribly memorable, but it was one of the first times 3D graphics looked kind of good, so that was exciting at the time.
