Hey guys, just a couple hours ago Microsoft unveiled a first look at Windows 10. Here is the video if you haven't seen it already:
So what do you guys think about it? I thought it was a bit surprising, because Windows 9 wasn't even out yet. But then again, a possible theory some people have made said that "Windows 7 ate (8) 9."
Or is it a Microsoft thing to put random numbers in their products?

I'm probably guessing that the OS is "too good" to be called as Windows 9.
It looks great to me. I love Windows 8, and this looks like a better version of that. I especially like the new Start menu, with the classic view and the tiles together. It doesn't look like such a big leap that it needs to skip 9 though...
I think they want to become more competitive with Apple, considering that they are now doing free, annual upgrades to Mac OS X. That's why it's coming so quickly.

Let's not forget that this is the same company that went from Xbox 360 to Xbox One. Never trust Microsoft with counting correctly.

And yet they charge over $100 per upgrade. I wouldn't even call that "competitive"

I heard that Microsoft wants to make it free for everyone who has Windows 8. Or did I find a bad article?

Windows 8 took Windows 7, uglied up the UI, added a ton of features I didn't ask for and didn't want, and tried to turn my desktop PC into a tablet. While Windows 10 looks like it's sort of correcting that last one (seriously, why would I ever need an app store on a desktop PC?), it's still an ugly, cluttered interface with a bunch of features that I'll never use.
Hopefully Windows 7 support remains indefinitely.

It's funny because there's an App Store on Mac. It's been there since Lion, I think?

Well, you can upgrade PC parts, but you can't upgrade MAC, AFAIK. By the time you upgrade whatever PC parts you want, which isn't even an option on MAC, and get the newest OS, I would think that might be a better or equal option for people who keep up to date with this sort of thing, anyway.
So upgrading your PC and Windows OS is about as good, if not better than buying a MAC you can't change the parts of, but the OS updates are included with MAC If that makes sense.
