Topic: Why the hate on Windows Vista?..

Why do people hate this OS?
I have Vista Basic and i think it is really cool and of course...sexy. lol
But seriously...most people that complain about it either have low-powered computers that cannot exactly run it or they are either just people who are mac fanboys and said it copied the MAC OS X.
Seriously..i think Vista is better than Windows XP.
I used to own XP on my old computer...it was slow..unresponsive all the time(maybe cuz it was a family computer and many people stored stuff on it...i cannot say as it was 2 years ago it died out on me)
However with Vista...its smooth and gets everything done.....sure it maybe slow alittle bit but im not downloading big files or trying to use it to play Fallout 3 or any other powerful tool utilities which thus giving me a Nice pleasant experience with Vista.
I recommend using something like XP for all your gaming or utility needs.
And yeah..i guess you can have a good powerful PC that runs vista ultimate package but really...Vista is sorta for me for maybe people who haven't experienced computers before as i thought XP was confusing as hell...but let me know what you guys think.

Took me a while to get used to it. After a little tweaking (and updating), most of the security issues were taken care of on my computer. Now I don't like XP because I'm used to Vista.

Same with me...I got about 60 viruses in my vistas lifetime and the security killed them lol
Plus ieveryday i clean my vista with "ccleaner" or i use "mcAfee security" and that makes things so much easier!^^

Let me put it this way......... I can make elaborate artworks with the error signs that appear whenever I log in. Also, I had to delete all the Office and Internet Exploder and replace it with Openoffice and Firefox to make it remotely decent (I have to do this with all versions of Windows,though).

I like Vista too. I have a few viruses, but that's probably because I haven't installed SP1 yet.

i like Leopard on my mac, if you like vista, go for it, but i like my pet leopard.

Vista is more difficult to use for me. And in general, a lot of Microsoft's software is more difficult to use. Does anyone use Word or Excel 2007? They eliminated the menu bar, and replaced it with some complicated set up at the top, which was completely unnecessary. I think Microsoft is bent on eliminating the menu bar (File, Edit, View etc...) all together, which makes no sense.

i've used vista for a long time, in may this year though I switched over to Windows 7 RC1, it will run me until may next year.

in conclusion, Windows 7 is made of win the new task bar is just too good.

No i mean't atleast have a good REASON to why you don't like it.
however i don't want child-ish reasons,i want some valid points.

I only use what Corbie recommends. Thinking for myself is too hard.

we had a LAN party yesterday. Warcraft 3, very important map with teamwork. At 3 o'clock, 3 pc's restarted. Reason? Windows Vista had to install some updates. Well ofc it was our fault we didnt turn that autoinstall off , but still.... vista is ok for stability, but there are some VERY stange functions here and there....

Btw, most this 'hate on windows vista' is long gone. It was in the infancy of this OS, it's actually very stable now, i didn't have a crash a single time for about 7-8 months before my upgrade to W7.

like u said the was really only hate for vista when it was 1st realesed the only reason i didnt like vista is cause it wouldnt run some of my older programs that worked with xp

Because I can´t run DOS game files directly (without an emulator)

They went away with DOS after Windows ME... so you can't really play DOS games on XP either (without an emulator)

I like Vista, but the new Office is confusing, as I have to re-learn where everyting is, which is frustrating!

I'm using my Vista right now with no problems. I think the Vista is great!
