I want to get into the Resident Evil games, after completing Resident Evil 4 on my Wii and loving it. I want to get Resident Evil 1, but I do not know which version I should get. I have the abitly to play it on just about every console it was released for (I have a Wii, 3DS, DS, Nintendo 64 and PS3), but there are so many I don't know which one to go for. I am thinking of getting the version on the Wii, but I don't know if there are only motion controls for it. Which version do you think is the best?

It's like, I just love a cowboy
You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!

The DS version has all the hilarious dialog and video from the original Saturn game. But I also think the GameCube remake of Resident Evil is my favorite. Resident Evil: Archives is a port of the GameCube version on the Wii. There are no added motion controls, it's exactly the same except it's all on one disc instead of two.

...in my pants.

So can I play the Wii version with a Gamecube controller, or is the the WiiMote and Nunchuck the only controller option?

Thanks Miss_Birdo, even though the Wii version is very slightly more expensive online here in the UK (£0.16 difference), I think the small difference is worth it for not having to change discs halfway through the game. I would like to have a game with more than one disc one day though, even if it is just for the novelty of it

I bought the Wii version a few years ago or whenever it was when it came out.
Still haven't really gotten around to playing it though. D:
I have way too many Wii games that I've bought but haven't really touched yet.
