Oh yeah I'm excited about B&B's return! The only thing I watched on MTV after they basically stopped airing, you know, MUSIC and became another reality show channel. ...

Isn't astounding how all the television channels are becoming nothing more than miserable imitations of one another? It is almost as if everywhere you turn there is either a loopy 'reality show' or a horrid teen soap opera. At lest History Channel, Disney XD, Food Network and HGTV are still worth watching but Cartoon Network is slowly being invaded by the invasion of the reality show body snatchers.

While we're discussing retro reboots why not take a look at the new TMNT from Nickelodeon.

Yeah, the new TMNT looks terrible. They don't even have the right freaking weapons But still, Adventure time and Regular Show are some of the best animation on TV right now.

Does anybody here remember Scooby-Doo? I always loved that show. I dunno if the new ones are good, but the old ones were very clever. If ever have kids, once they're 6+ I should show them Scooby-Doo, give them something non-mindless to watch.

Sure, I loved that show as a kid. Can't really say that it isn't mindless as the same thing happened in every episode but that didn't seem to bother me much.

I have to say I was always freaked out about Shaggy constantly eating dog biscuits. That's just gross.

Yeah, but it was a mystery, you had to figure out who the guy in the mask was. Though I rarely guessed it right...

Wow yet another series that will ruin the TMNT name. Honestly though what did you expect the guys who created it arent even involved in TMNT anymore they sold their shares to Nickoldeon. If I want to watch TMNT I will just pull out the DVD sets of the orignal TMNT series.

As for the weapon switch a roo. I know for a fact that Micaelanglos weapons being the nunchuk are illegal in alot of places world wide. If you notice in the later series of the original TMNT series he stopped using the nunchuk in favor of the grappling hook. So it doesnt surprise me that they changed Mikeys weapons. As for Dontaellos I dont know what the heck was that looked to me like a Naganata rather than his Bo staff. Dont know why they changed that.

But yea I plan on skipping this one.

The new series is VERY good. They have a season wide villain, and they actually acknowledge the possible relationships within the gang and develop them. Still, by far Scooby Doo's greatest moment was the Zombie Island movie, IMO.

Regarding the TMNT thing, it said "Mutation IN PROGRESS" and a release date of 2012, that was obviously just a small animation test. I see a lot of potential in that art style, I like the way the shadows look on them.

@WaveBoy Beetlejuice! That was awesome! For other creepy cartoons there was also the animated Addams Family show and Count Duckula. Two old cartoons I'd love to get on DVD someday are Batman: The Animated Series and Gargoyles. Those shows were top class and would be well worth owning. Anyone remember the old cartoons Street Sharks or Stunt Dawgs? Ooh, how about the MIB cartoon or Extreme Ghostbusters?

I've retreated mostly to DVDs these days since TV is so full of garbage these days. The shows I've watched recently... Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Dollhouse and a bunch of Asian comedies and dramas.

The Walking Dead looks interesting but I haven't seen it. Opinions?

The Walking Dead is amazing. I've seen the first season like a million times and still haven't gotten tired of it.

Not that anyone will argue that TV programming is filled with crap, but there are still gems airing.

@WaveBoy, if you enjoy the colorfulness of 'Spongebob Squarepants' then I'm sure you'll enjoy the beautiful and creative show that 'Adventure Time' is. You should also try and watch Regular Show along with downloading a few episodes of 'The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack.

@Popyman, I'm glad you're willing to give the new TMNT a chance as I was also disappointed in the trailer but I'm still optimistic because I know that after all this is a 'work in progress' and I thought Star Wars The Clone Wars would be an epic fail compared to the 'creative' show that Tartakovsky's Clone Wars Micro Series was but now I'm totally and completely dazzled by the new Clone Wars show and I think that the same might happen with this new iteration of TMNT as I also enjoyed the TMNT movie that IMAGI created a few years ago (2007?).

BTW I also agree with you guys in regard to the new 'Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated'. SD: Mystery Incorporated is in my opinion just as wonderful as the classic Scooby Doo programs.

Soo...this thread is about TV shows?

Don't really feel like reading four pages of posts to find out.

If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.

Yes, in a way it is. This thread is for the discussion of Retro television shows that you enjoy and for the discussion of new shows with that 'Retro Vibe' (.i.e. Adventure Time, BBC Merlin) that invoke a nostalgic thirst for the good programs of yesteryear.

You only need to read one post, and that's the first. And honestly, I wish more people would read it.

EDIT: Actually, this thread is an exception. Really now, you couldn't have just put it in plain english, Red?

EDIT Again: Well, you just did...although I don't see how your first post in in any way relevent to that.

Anyway, I've don't watch those shows but Adventure Time gets +1,000,000 stars for having John DiMaggio do voices.

Might like this too then:

No Mark Hamill?

DiMaggio will probably be a good replacement, but Hamill nailed that role perfectly for the cartoon.

Agreed. Arkham City is Hamill's last performance as the Joker, but I doubt Dimaggio will be the "new" permanent Joker. Dimaggio was pretty decent though, which surprised me.

For the record, (And I should have put this in my original post) I did look at the first post, but it wasn't clear at all, so I got confused about what this thread was about.

If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.
