An then of course there are games that are already released that I will need to get.

Madden 13, Halo 4, Fable...can't remember when Starcraft 2 expansion comes out but if it is this holiday season it will be my #1 priority.

The Starcraft expansion will be coming out next year this year Blizz released Diablo 3 and the WoW expansion is coming out next month.

Right now the only things I'm definitely getting are Pokemon BW2 and Halo 4, and I'm buying them at launch, so not for the purpose of Christmas.
Eh, it'll be a year to go through a backlog of stuff I missed out on.
2013 is looking to be an amazing year in gaming though.

Assuming I don't (or can't if the Wii's launch is any indication) get a Wii U, I'll probably get lots of Microsoft Points so I can finally get more XBLA games. And some other retail game/s. Kingdom Hearts 3D? Heroes of Ruin? Some now cheap games I missed like Red Steel 2 or one of the arguable quality 360 JRPGs?

I'm surprised you're not getting

Sadly, I'm not buying anything this year. There hasn't been anything that has really jumped out at me this year . I do still want to get Trauma Team, but no store around here has it and I don't really want to buy online for this game.

@Yammas626, why are you getting AB on 3DS? It's a huge ripoff, since you can get all 3 games elsewhere for $3 at most (heck, for just $4, you can have all 4 games).

The 3DS versions may or may not be better than the iOS/Android versions, but I doubt any new additions would be worth the $27 price hike.
