@Joshers744 Did you like or dislike the Adventure controls? I liked them, they just felt so easy. If the next Sonic game brought back those smooth controls, but kept the Unleashed gameplay, that would be good enough.

I really liked them. I wonder why in the world they ever changed them after that.

Guess it had something to do with Sonic 06... but they didn't have to change it really. They could've just made sure the gameplay never ended up like Sonic 06 again.

Games I'm playing currently: Legend of Zelda: A Link Betweeen Worlds, Tearaway

The Adventures felt so loose, like you can actually move in any direction you wanted without having to think about it, and I loved that. 06 I think was somewhat similiar to that, but something just wasn't right.

It was just so glitchy... all SEGA has to do was never let it happen again. Sonic should go back to his Adventure gameplay roots... it just felt fit for him.

It was an anniversary game! It was made to celebrate the series's past! SEGA even said not to think of Sonic Generations as the next big thing, but an anniversary gift reflecting on Sonic's past! SEGA will make something new and creative. At least Sonic is more than a creative than a certain franchise I know... (cough, cough) Mario (cough, cough)
EDIT I'm not saying I hate Mario. Mario games are better than Sonic games. I'm just saying Mario is less creative... so don't go starting a Mario VS. Sonic fan-war arguing with me that Mario is a good franchise, because I agree Mario is in fact better than Sonic. Just because I'm saying Mario games are more uncreative than Sonic games, I don't mean they're worse than Sonic games.

You have to be joking... The console 3D Mario games are some of the most creative games ever made!!! Does Super Mario 64 play like Super Mario Sunshine? Or does Sunshine play like any of the Galaxy games? NO! Super Mario Galaxy is one of the most creative games i have ever played. But to be honest the recent 2D Mario games are all the same...

Yeah, that was a WHILE ago. Where have you been for the last few years? The last creative game was Super Mario Galaxy. After that, it was the same ideas over and over. New Super Mario Bros. Wii felt too familiar. Super Mario Galaxy 2 felt too familiar. Super Mario 3D Land played it safe. New Super Mario Bros. 2 played it safe. New Super Mario Bros. U was actually pretty creative actually. Anyways, Nintendo hasn't been as creative with Mario LATELY. I should've clarified that. Yes, the Mario games from the 1980's to the mid 2000's were pretty creative, but after Super Mario Galaxy, they started re-using ideas. But Sonic games were terrible then so Mario had all his rights to brag. You know what, sometimes playing it safe actually works. But I'm saying LATELY, LATELY, Nintendo hasn't been as creative with Mario, say, as they were with Super Mario Galaxy or Super Mario Sunshine. Mario is better than Sonic though and all his games are great. It's a minor criticism and other than creativity the newer Mario games (2009-present) have all been perfection. New Super Mario Bros. U was the most creative Mario game I've played in a long time and more creative than some of the Sonic games. Now calm down, and let's go back to the topic okay?

Considering how some of the more creative Sonic games turned out, (Sonic & the Black Knight, Sonic Unleashed, Sonic Riders) it might not be a bad idea for SEGA to play it safe with the Colors/Generations style gameplay.

Yeah the Unleashed style gameplay is pretty great. What if they combined Adventure gameplay with Unleashed gameplay? Sonic could have the physics and moves like Spin Dash and have lots of exploration from the Adventure games but be faster, have 2D and 3D sections, and hast moves like Stomp, Wall Jump, and Boost ftom Unleashed games? I also like it when SEGA is real creative which is something they shouldn't struggle with.
