Maynard Keenan (lead singer of Tool, Perfect Circle): Met him in highschool (went to the same one he did - just 10 years later) when he was there on holiday visiting his Dad, my Earth Science teacher.
Jeff Smith (author of Graphic Novel Bone): I had my comicbooks for sale at a Small Press Convention and he bought my book.
Mark Kistler (PBS guy that teaches kids to draw): Went to a charity event where he taught kids to draw, I was so nervous to meet him that I could barely speak. This man is only topped by Charles Schulz and Bill Watterson in my influences list.
Alex Robinson (author of graphic novels: Box Office Poison, Tricked and Too Cool To Be Forgotten <soon to be major motion picture>): Met him a simular Small Press Comic Convention 10 years ago, and have been friends ever since.
and I've seen many many B & C list celebrities at comic conventions. Like Corbin Bernson and that guy from American Werewolf in London...
I've met Peter Steele of Type O Negative, they came to my town for their tour for October Rust & we got there so early we walked in on their sound check. Peter came over and talked to us for a few minutes & gave us backstage passes. Also met Les Claypool of Primus when I was in California for my birthday for 2 weeks. They did their Halloween show in San Francisco & I got to meet him after the show.
A Philadelphia Eagles player Winston Justice came to our school, and we got to talk to him alot.
My dad was in the same Bible study group as the guys who made Veggietales, too; but at the time, everybody in the group though their idea of talking vegetables preaching the Word would be the most unsuccessful thing ever.
David Randall - British journalist from The Independent, but most famous for his book The Universal Journalist, an internationally acclaimed journalism handbook.
The rest are people only famous in The Netherlands.

I live in the middle of nowhere. I've met no one who is even remotely famous or even near the status of 'celebrity'.
