When playing most RPGs and hack and slash you usually come to a point to assign what you want your character to be most, these options are to be a worrier Mage or other (like a thief or an archer). What profession do you pick and why?
I haven't played any rpgs where you choose your class but Mage knight would probably be my pick if its in the game. Its basically a combination of a swordsman and mage.
Well the only game that I can really compare this question to is World of Warcraft which I tend to play what is know as a Range DPS (Damage dealer as as opposed to a healer or Tank) So to answer your question I play a mage caster type or a ranger archer type.
I'm pretty varied. In a FANTASTIC "home-brew world" D&D campaign I used to play I went with a NG Wood Elf Ranger (archer). I had a lot of fun with him. I then switched over to a NE Human Wizard (think Raistlin, but before there ever was a Raistlin...dern copycats). In another D&D campaign, I played a dark, brooding, and tormented warrior. In console-type RPG's (like Fallout and Skyrim), I tend to play sneaky archers/snipers. In games like Diablo, I tend to play Barbarian-like warriors, but in Guild Wars I like scrawny assassin and fighter-types.
I guess if I had to nail down something consistant, I'd say I range from the "reluctant hero" to the "anti-hero" archetypes.
