Hey Guys,

I was inspired to make this tread after someone posted on the Amy Winehouse topic.

The news in Norway was a tragedy. At least 85 people are dead. Originally there was a bomb in Oslo (People believe the target was their President). Just 2hrs later a man disguised as a policeman claiming to be security after the bomb in Oslo went over to a island and mindlessly shot everyone in sight. 81 dead bodies have been found and more are expected to be found overnight.
This was one of the biggest tragedies of the new millennium happening to one of the most peaceful countries.

Discuss and Commiserate hear. My heart goes out to the friend and family of those found dead. And the survivors after such a traumatic experience.

Woah, like do you have a link? For more coverage other than your own word? And that is awful. I dont really know what to say...

Just for you.

The suspect is apparently a right wing extremist. It's times like this that make me glad I'm from a town where no one cares.

I saw this news last night. It is absolutely devastating. My thoughts and prayers go out to all the people who are affected by this terrible tragedy.

things like these make me want humanity to be burned away from the face of the earth.

All the children try to run,
To him its part of the fun.
His branching arms are for collecting,
His face is empty of expressing.
He sometimes hums a lowly drone,
He will wander 'round your home.
Dressed in darkest suit and tie,
He won't let you say goodbye.

See what is going to happen to humanity......all based on intolerance. Another sad day in life of a lot of people.

Was following the news on this.

Teared up when I heard an eyewitness report from someone on the island during the spree. Very terrible to hear.

Condolences to all those affected. Definitely shows how terror could be done by anyone, not just the usual Al-Qaeda assumption.

Sad to hear loads of people have lost there lives today but the news will be full of Amy Winehouse's Death and she will still get the attention because she is or was famous. That is annoying that someone famous gets all the attention I would much rather hear about the sad things happening than a stupid attention hog that took an overdose.

At the time I am writing this I am visiting my uncle and aunt in Oslo. We had planned to go to the center of the city, around where the bomb exploded today (the day after the explosion). I was on a trip to Strömstad, Sweden, about a hour from Oslo when the bomb exploded, so I did not hear the explosion, as I probably whould if i was in Oslo.
But the biggest tragedy was obviously the massacre that happened at a political summer youth camp. The police has of now confirmed that at least 85 (out of about 650) youts were killed.

Well, it's indeed sad and tragic (both events), but at least have some sort of understanding.

Sure, blame the media for not thinking their priorities straight, I agree with you there, but think twice about cursing at the dead for being dead.

I know a friend who lives in Oslo, moved there a few years ago to get away from the crime and have a better, happier life... DO'H! Thankfully he's alright.

Shame about those people though, I heard it's now 92 people that are dead. This guy is some sick bar steward, why would you go blowing up a street then shoot a buncha teens? However, that bomb was a nice distraction and worked well.

Either way... I know this may be mean, but I do hope he gets shot himself than the Norwegian guys paying for him to live in jail.

@3DS I haven't heard ANYTHING about Amy Winehouse on the news today, only about Norway.

I don't really feel sorry for Amy either, she drank and drugged herself to death... and her music sucked too, makes no difference to me.

@andyutd97 I really appreciate you making this thread after what I posted on the Amy Winehouse thread. No words could describe the horror that has occurred in Norway, how anyone could willing take the lives of so many innocent people, I'll never know. I hope that all the families of the victims can find the strength to cope with the losses, and that all Norwegians do not let the extremists win by changing their ways of life. R.I.P. All those who lost their lives.

It's been a truly morbid weekend, Amy Winehouse has died, there have been these truly terrible and tragic Norway attacks, two bullet trains in China crashed killing a couple dozen and injuring dozens more.

To top it all off, yesterday I was going to check out this abandoned insane asylum (I enjoy exploring derelict buildings) which is right next to the new one, and when I got there, police were everywhere and a patient was on the roof threatening to jump off. I was there for about an hour or two and he was still there when I left, I went by later on that night to sneak into the abandoned insane asylum and he wasn't on the roof anymore, I checked the news but couldn't find anything about it, hopefully they got him down in the end.
