Topic: Tips and/or Advice for someone who wants to get into Choice Based Narrative games?

I'm asking for a Friend. Essentially, i enjoy playing games where your choices effect how the story goes. I told this to my friend, and he told me that he'd try some of them out, but the stress of making decisions that effect the rest of the story, for better or worse, is too much for him.
So i told him to try out games that allow him to make multiple save slots. but then he told me "If i do that, i'll have a dozen save slots and no idea which one to keep playing with!"
So what i am asking whoever happens to stop by here is this; Which games would you recommend for someone who is new to choice based Narrative games based on my description of my freind here? The kind of person who shuts the game off when making a big decision because the stress involved is too much for him?
I'd also appreciate something like maybe sentences/Lines of dialogue/sayings/quotes about living with your choices that perhaps could encourage my friend to overcome save scumming and see what happens when a choice is made, regardless if it's good or bad things awaiting him.
Don't know if anyone could come up with any advice on this matter, but i thought i'd give it a shot.

While I don't know what kind of narrative driven game your friend wants to play, but may I suggest maybe a visual novel? I remember playing Tokyo School Life, getting the bad ending, and after looking at a guide and seeing choices that affect the story and got to see all three good endings.

Plus in most VNs I tried, dialogue and story you already read, you can fast forward through and choose the other options to see the different outcomes. Saving multiple times helps, and while VNs have a lot of slots, the goal of the game is to read the story and see the outcome. Which may be hard with the worry of multiple slots.

There's nothing wrong with saving and then loading to try another choice. In VNs, it's best to save at a choice, so if you want to see the other outcome you can reload it. The different outcomes are reasons to keep playing. Plus, VNs do allow fast forwarding and skipping of dialogue and story you already read, if you don't want to read the whole thing again, and start over without worrying about saving too much.

I hope this could be some sort of advice. Keep in mind visual novels are not like most games and there's lots of reading, but they are story driven and choices affect the story in some of the ones I've played.
