So I got some killer board games including Gloomhaven, and the expansion for here to slay. On the dnd side of things got the Gamewizards book which is not a supplement for dnd but it is the story of Gygax and Arneson, Great read and also that is supllement is the Fizeban Guide to dragons which really has a cool bestiary for us DMS.
@Mikmoomamimocki Np. Both ways have helpful communities to get you started. In the case of going to the Comic/game store. You can always go in and sit back and watch a session or two before diving in just let people know that you are new and that you never played before. Don't go in assuming you know D&D just cause you may have some things on the internet. Some groups might have house rules that may change the way something is played out. By sitting back and watching a few sessions you can see and mingle with the other players and see if the group is a perfect fit for you.

@Tasuki That’s good advice, it is nice to have all the resources we have these days for new players. When I started in 94 I did not habe that and had to figure things out in my own and how things played out. Probably, played it wrong but that’s ok.
I got Streets of Steel starter set today. It's kind of a unique idea where as it's a board game based off of 80's Arcade beat 'em ups like Streets of Rage, Final Fight, Double Dragon. Play is simple enough as I have only seen a few YouTube videos on how to play the game. From what I saw though it looked like an enjoyable game.

@Themagusx1 DnD, some kind of premade story which came with the package i think. There were some premade characters we used as well, pretty stereotypical really. We wanted to get a feel of it first

@Themagusx1 Totally planning for that too! I haven't been the gm that time though, which is mostly the issue why we cannot continue. But i am not sure if i am confident enough to try my hand on creating a story without having at least played through one more professional premade campaign

@Solaine Take your time and it’s good to play ,pre before you GM. And also you can note the type of GMs you like to play with and all that good stuff to help develop your gaming style.
So I have been running a Fallout The Roleplaying Game campaign for my players the past few weeks which we have been enjoying. The first couple of sessions were a little rough since we were still learning the mechanics but now that we have it down for the most part it's quite an enjoyable game.
Currently the group is wandering around the mid-west of the US. I decided to have my campaign there as I felt that the West Coast and East Coast have been done before in the Fallout universe. They just took on their first major battle a raider camp in which one of the players came close to dieing. However they were able to get a pretty sweet shotgun in the end.

@Rambler It's a pretty interesting system and fits the Fallout material well. The core rule book is great to on how much lore they go into. Thr only gripe I have is it's based off of Fallout 4 and really doesn't cover 1,2,3, or New Vegas too much.
