Only because everyone complotted against my random FFXIII song.

It would've absolutely defeated the Paper Jam one in the "music from games nobody cares about" battle.

Still can't believe Paper Jam music made it all the way to the semifinals though. AlphaDream may be broke but Yoko Shimomura can jam.

Same with ACE, their acoustics are divine. I call it now, this song will take victory.

I like Paper Jam but I didn't remember any of the music from it, but yeah this one is amazing. All four of these semifinalists would be worthy winners.

It really was a good song, deserving of that win but man I didn't expect that

'Grats again to @TheJGG for the great choice and the win! Might be a niche song but it's always one of the first snow themes that springs to my mind. Happy my songs fared well too.

For next round(s): I think basing contests off of a general location archetype works quite well in thte context of VGM. Desert themes, forest themes, ruins/temple themes should all be interesting, I'd say.

I nominate "Ancient Tech Ruins" as the next theme.

Music played in ancient, abandoned places that display evidence of long-lost (advanced) technology.

Ruins would be nice.

I don’t think we ever did a temple / ruins theme so that could be interesting. If everyone likes that idea then let’s go for it.

Why do I have a feeling this soon is going to turn into a “Zelda Songs” theme?

'Cos that's the beauty of Zelda themes; they have that feeling that's rare to replicate.

I don’t really know if this counts, but if so it should be nominated.

Not all look super ruined, but here's a few from me:

Gladsheim - Etrian Odyssey Untold 1 - The most literal of the bunch, a dungeon set in a very ruined, very ancient, very advanced laboratory.

Ginnungagap - Etrian Odyssey Untold 2 - A bit less evidently advanced, but served a similar purpose to Gladsheim.

Tower of the Gods - The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker - An ancient trial made to test the hero, filled with robots and shiny surfaces. Was left hidden for many many years, waiting for a hero to test.

Shrine - The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - Basically the Tower of the Gods times 120.

Within the Giant - Final Fantasy IV - A giant machine created a long time ago by an alien race to destroy humanity. Although it's technically an entity, it's large enough to hold a city.

Technical Difficulties - Portal 2 - I'm sure the Aperture Science labs count as ruins by the time of this game.

Chozo Ruins - Metroid Prime - Ruins left by the Chozo, basically count by default.
