@chapu2006 I still can't believe that happened! When you consider just how talented some of the drivers in that year's field are, that a race was called early because of bad driving says a lot about the others. Then again you had drivers like Santino Ferucci and Tatiana Calderon, one who had a reputation for being dangerous, and another who was just so slow.

People like Calderon aren't representative of women in racing. I finally managed to catch a W-Series race live the other week and I was really impressed by some of the racecraft from some of the racers, and Jamie Chadwick's raw pace. She's young and fast, and could be the best chance of a woman getting into F1. Have you seen a race from there yet? Because if not there's one coming up at Silverstone next week!

@TheJGG
I'll give it a go. Where can I watch it?

Hope you're having a good day.

jedgamesguy

@chapu2006 It’ll be on Channel 4 at least live for the race. Hopefully you find it in time!

@WoomyNNYes I don’t like Porsche cars all that much so I’d choose the Audi!

I’d like to know (in a polite and non charged way naturally) your thoughts on this race’s collision. Racing incident, one way or the other? There’s YouTube highlights coming in a few minutes so you can get right up to speed.

@WoomyNNYes Yeah Verstappen and Hamilton hit each other on the first lap, and VER was out. Hamilton was slapped with a ten second penalty but managed to win the race. Lovely driving but I’m very confused as to why people call Hamilton arrogant, dangerous or evil. He made a mistake (and even then I’d say it was a racing incident considering how aggressive VER defended), served his penalty and won the race.

A racing incident, put simply. Hamilton should have gone to the inside more and Verstappen shouldn't have turned in and given Hamilton no way to go. Still, it was very dangerous so there is a little justification to the verdict.

Hope you're having a good day.

@chapu2006 @WoomyNNYes (angry rant incoming)

I swear I look at any comments section on YouTube, news sites, and it's even more toxic than even the worst NintendoLife comments section. I am NOT joking. Such a controversial incident with absolutely all the grey area possible... no it's not. I will debunk the most common complaints.

Hamilton's arrogant for celebrating a HOME WIN? They crashed. That was always gonna happen. Hamilton got a penalty and won the race. What, you're not allowed to be happy because your rival had a crash?

Verstappen's fine. if he was able to send out a stupid Tweet from hospital I think he's quite fine thank you very much. A tweet that's not just badly timed but just flat out wrong. If VER took out Hamilton at your home race he wouldn't say half the nonsense VER said.

Hamilton apologising? That's as likely as Verstappen saying he's gonna be less aggressive. He has nothing to apologise for.

And Hamilton should get a race ban... I have nothing to say.

It may come across supercharged but these are facts.

F for Rowland, 👏😀 for Lynn.

Hope you're having a good day.

@chapu2006 And a black flag for Lucas Di Grassi. What the actual heck were Audi thinking?!

In all seriousness if they had actually come to a complete stop they would have gotten away with it.

May come as a surprise but I want Nyck de Vries to win the title this year. He’s such a funny, charming guy, that races so well. Probably the only Dutch driver I’ll ever support lol…

Today's the day! Who do you think will win the Formula E Championship?
The bang-on favourite for me is Nyck de Vries. He's the only one of the major title contenders to start in group 4 in quali and has looked in good form in London and today's practices. Even so, over 10 drivers are still in contention so anything can happen.

Edit: Hold on, groups are based on Championship positions? Never mind, sorry. I might still say De Vries because all the contenders will likely be near the bottom of the pack and not scoring enough points to make an impact.

@chapu2006 I really want De Vries to win the title but it's so wide open now. Mitch Evans is in the best position though, and even though he hasn't won a race this year his consistency can be rewarded. In terms of order of likelihood; Evans, then Dennis, since both start in the points, and then De Vries since he still actually leads him.

@TheJGG I turned today's f1 race on at lap 11. Why were there so many cars leading the race that usually don't lead the races? What changed or happened in qualifying?

Octane

@WoomyNNYes Hamilton screwed up the qualification rounds yesterday, and Verstappen got his fourth engine, so he was required to start last, though he managed to get back to sixth position already I see.

@WoomyNNYes @Octane So? Like that one? I thought that was an absolute classic!

Didn't watch it live, but it's impressive to see Verstappen managed to get second place after starting last.

@Octane I thought it was a good job but a lot of it was because of the rain. He was seventh before it all kicked off, and made a good call switching to wets. My personal driver of the day was Sainz, he somehow dragged those tyres almost to the end of the race and then nabbed a podium. Hamilton's win was for me in doubt for so long because he was stuck behind another car... but he recovered so well.

@WoomyNNYes Well there’s a few things worth mentioning. First, that was a race against Professional-type AI, so it wasn’t that hard to have a clean race, lol. I’ve had races online (in the Grade 3 class to be precise) and the racing at times has been atrocious. As soon as I complete a pass I’d get punted from behind, or I’d get shoved off the road when going wheel to wheel. But… my rules, my race!

And second… I was actually using a controller for that race! On the dash, where the gear number and speed are, is a red dot indicating my steering lock at that moment, and I admit it’s hard to tell I’m using one (a DualSense to be exact). In the F1 games it’s easier to tell, but… I’d assume that’s a compliment, my thanks.

Best of luck actually finding good racing though. I know all too well how much we need it.

Edit: Christ I was so bad at driving in that video. I hadn’t played the game for two months, and had spent those two months playing F1 2021, a game that handles much stiffer, but with much faster cars.

@TheJGG Haha. That's funny. I had it wrong on so many levels. Kinda feel bad about misunderstanding the video AND posting it, then and going on my misguided point.😁 I think I'll delete the post.

Do you race GT Sport online? Is damage on or off, if you do?

Playing GRID with the gamecube controller (using analog trigger) is good, but I gave up racing online because there's a 95+% chance of racing against sadistic psychos racers.
