why was hello kitty island adventure downloaded so much on switch: ]
Because it came out on Switch in 2025 after being trapped on Apple and is a really fun game with characters from one of the world's most popular media franchises. And the digital version was significantly cheaper rhan the physical version so a lot of people got it digital.
Personally, it was my runner-up GotY after Donkey Kong Bananza.
@D-Star92 Yup. I posted about the books in the book thread, I finished book three today. That third book got rather exciting at one point too. Cool, kind of figured that Amazon would have the books. What's a little library box? Never heard of that, is it something at a library?
Cool, hope you pick out a good one.
@Electricmastro2 I haven't played it, I do know a friend who enjoys it. He likes Animal Crossing-style games and decided to give it a shot, even though it's based off Hello Kitty.

@Sunsy it's a little different than animal crossing. You have more than 70 villagers on your island by the end 😆 And there are puzzle shrines and platforming challenges and lava. And a surprising amount of plot even though it is silly plot. And you get to be an animal yourself rather than a human. But it does have lots of decorating houses and fishing and breeding complicated flowers like animal crossing.
@Sunsy Nice, I read your thoughts on it in the book club thread. Glad you're enjoying the series. I should post my thoughts on Rainbow Magic as well sometime.
OK, so a library box is basically an outdoor cabinet, where people can take books or put them in. There are a couple of them in my area, and they're also called "little free libraries." Here's a stock image of what they look like...
As for what Disney movie I'd watch on my birthday, I'm thinking of watching Cinderella. I love that movie.

@Electricmastro2 I just started fantasy life i actually. Hello Kitty Island Adventure is a bit closer to animal crossing in how laid back it is, but it is the general genre of super long cozy game rpg.
I'm kind of curious: has anyone here ever had any boxes of books, DVDs, physical games, game consoles, etc. kept in storage for a long time?
I already have three boxes full of books that won't fit on my bookshelves, and just this Christmas, I had to box up some completed manga series for the first time ever just to make room for some new volumes of incompleted series 😅. Boxed up the first seven volumes of the Pokémon Adventures manga too 😅. Also, a few days after Christmas, I started a new box just for obtained DVDs and Blu-Rays which is now in the basement (my book boxes aren't in the basement though, since my dad told me that leaving books in the basement would cause bad side effects to happen to them), instead of all of my physical movies and TV shows taking up space in my room.
I'm also gonna have to rearrange my desk once I get my Switch 2, hopefully sometime this year. And when I also get a second Switch 2 dock, that will take the place of my PS4 in the living room, so I can play Switch 2 on the TV. I'm certainly not getting rid of my PS4, I love it a lot, but at that time I will just be boxing it up for now, since the rest of my family (and even myself, to a degree) is having trouble standing the incessant whirring noises that the machine makes while I'm playing 😅. I am looking into playing more Neptunia games on the Switch now, though, since thankfully, most of the Neptunia games I want to prioritize are available on the Switch as well, in some way, shape, or form (Playasia to the rescue!).
Also, perhaps a short time after I get my Switch 2, I may even have to box up some of my physical Switch 1 games that I haven't touched in ages just to save space 😅. Lord help me.
No need to worry, none of this stuff is remaining boxed up forever. I'll take it all back out once I move out of my parents' house and have my own house, hopefully sometime in the 2030s 😀.

@Nep-Nep-Freak I've had plenty of boxes of books. Books are pretty hardy so it's quite safe. dvds and game media I've also had in storage (both in my closet and with storage or moving companies) but I've had quite a few be destroyed (furniture collapse which destroyed some games, dvds which essentially just melted over time, some water damage which harmed various things (that one got a few books also though not as irreversibly), damage in a moving truck. Also had some stolen. I'm not so big on physical media anymore because of all of that. I could have been more careful certainly but part was just bad luck and part was the fact that some media simply doesn't last forever unless you store it in a vaccuum or something.
If you're storing in a storage company I would just say be very careful about how they are transported, the type of container, and the temperature of wherever they are being stored (except not so much for books; they can just be packed tightly in a generic box.)
@D-Star92 Thanks for reading them. I am, I still have one more book in the set. Sounds like something you enjoyed.
Oh, this is pretty cool. Don't think I've seen anything like this in my area. Where I live, there's just a normal library, which I never been to. Though I've been to the local Barnes and Noble plenty of times. Bought books related to characters I like from them, and manga from them. That reminds me, I bought a manga about Stitch from Lilo and Stitch. Cool little Disney find, didn't know they made a Stitch manga.
Enjoy the movie when the time comes.

Outer Worlds is apparently joining Fire Emblem: Fates as a game that was acclaimed at release and seemingly no one actually thinks it was actually all that great in hindsight.
It's been a while since I've posted on here, but hi, everyone! I would like to get back to posting on here as well. I want to also copy my posts from a few discord communities I'm a part of and paste them here for people to read who aren't members of those places. Does anyone else do that too?
@FishyS Oh, man. You have actually gotten some storage containers stolen from you before? That's terrible. I would be interested to know if it's because of bad luck or not that that happened.
@D-Star92 Hello, D-Star92! It's been a while since the last time we communicated. I would enjoy talking to you again too. I haven't forgotten about you, and have had a couple of interactions with you I thought were good.
I hear it's gonna be your birthday in a few days! That's great.
I also read you're gonna watch Cinderella on that day! Awesome. It always makes me glad to read people that have appreciation for the old Disney movies prior to the 90s and enjoy them.

Not from a storage company, just a plastic box in my own home. I was young at the time.
No, actually, I'm not a member of the discord. I think I knew NL had one once but forgot about it.
I would be interested in joining if it has the same rules as the fourms. Does it?

It's a pretty informal server not really used for official Nintendo Life stuff even though NL owns it. It does have moderators though. The rules are:
1. Use common sense
2. Be polite and respectful
3. Don't use profanity or abusive language
4. Do not spam or post adverts
5. Keep discussions relevant to the respective channels
6. Do not share unacceptable content
7. Spoilers are explicitly prohibited outside of the 'spoilers' forum channel
@Sunsy Anytime, and hope you enjoy that last book.
Ah gotcha. I've also seen a little free library in one of the walking parks I go to. That's cool, Barnes and Noble is a good store for sure, I like going there. I did hear they have a Lilo and Stitch manga actually, I remember seeing someone's post saying they got that.
Thank you, it's one of my favorite Disney movies so I know I'll enjoy it. A little bit of Disney magic on my birthday!
@PeterTomlan86 Hi there, I hope you're doing well. Yep, my birthday is coming up, and I'm excited! Me too... I love those movies as well. There's a certain vintage charm that the older Disney movies and shorts have that I really like.
