Any fellow Samsung phone users here? I need some help.
My Samsung phone just recently got the One UI 7 update, and I absolutely hate it. I specifically want to ask about one part of the update, involving the clock app. I have several preset timers that I can start whenever for things like gaming and exercising. Before the update, whichever preset timer the blue circle was on would automatically play that preset timer when I pressed start. But now, it will play whatever timer was last activated instead. I'll give an example that happened.
I play video games with a 1 hour timer. No problems yet. Next, I decide to do my exercises routine, which uses several 1 minute timers. In the past, if the blue circle was already on the 1 minute timer, I could just start it, no problems. But now, it will start the 1 hour timer instead, unless I tap the 1 minute preset timer again to unselect it, then reselect it again, which means each time that scenario happens, that is two extra taps that weren't needed before, which is really frustrating since it's throwing me off 🤬.
So now I'm looking for an alternative clock app from either the Google App Store or Samsung Galaxy Store. I'm specifically looking for one that is as similar to the Samsung Clock as possible but without the annoying change, doesn't have ads, and is free, and haven't found one yet after already trying several that all have their own issues. Does anyone else use a third party clock app that fits what I'm looking for? If you do, could you also list the developer since most of the clock apps on the App Stores just have generic names like "clock"?

@ShieldHero ooh, I don't have a clock app but if you find a good file explorer app please lmk! The one on my phone (Moto G Play) is awful lol. By the way, does anyone here use Nova Launcher? I love it, but apparently it's being discontinued! 😢
@CaleBoi25, does your Moto G Play have Android as the OS? I like using the Files by Google app, it can be downloaded on the Google Play Store. Apologies for not linking, I can't figure out how to link Play Store stuff.

To anybody who has had a less-than-stellar day, please watch this. (I worked two jobs, and my car, fridge, and fan all broke today, so it's been a long day, but this got me in a much better mood!)
@CaleBoi25, thanks for the laughs! I have actually really not had the best day today. I have way too much school, I'm barely able to finish all of it on time. Plus, that aforementioned One UI 7 update on my phone. It's all been really stressing me out the last few days.
But goodness, all that tech broke down in one day?! 🤯 That's rough. I hope replacing / repairing them won't be too hard on you financially.

Along with getting a Switch 2 sometime early next year, I also intend on getting a good used PS4 by the end of this year (a more recent decision), since there are some games on there that I want to play, and at $550, I think the PS5 is way too expensive, especially since I'm also getting a Switch 2. Because of this, I will be creating a Push Square account using my Nintendo Life account, since it's a Hookshot site like NL is.
Don't worry, this doesn't mean I'm quitting Nintendo Life. As a matter of fact, I'll still comment on this website a lot more than Push Square, simply because I like chatting with y'all and I've actually gotten to know some of you, and I still really like Nintendo. I'm just branching out a bit, that's all 😃. When I do get my PS4, I'll make sure to update my bio to include my Playstation friend code or whatever Playstation does for that kind of thing.

@ShieldHero oh, cool! I'm not much for the few PS exclusives there are, and the ones that do pique my interest I just play at my friend's house, but that should be fun!
@ShieldHero
I rarely posted comments on PushSquare too.
Only posted comments on general topic article like the machine feature and the kids games only articles.
@D-Star92 Late reply, two weeks late! Sorry for that.
Acecraft has easy controls, all you really need to do is move your finger on the screen to control the character, and the character also automatically shoots while you’re controlling them. It’s easy and simple to learn, but I haven’t played it a lot recently, playing rhythm games a lot right now! Though, there are a few games I liked playing and dropped because I lost interest or was too hard but need to get back into. I was emulating a few of the PaRappa games and enjoying those (despite how much I suck at rhythm games with button controls) but I dropped it at Um Jammer Lammy, but I intend on picking it back up at some point. And then there’s an HTF mobile game I liked but I found the micro-transactions, upgrade requirements and bosses got gradually annoying so I gave up on it for now. What bugs me is how the game keeps matching me up with players who completed the game and have fully upgraded vehicles and slingshots, and then they make diamonds so hard to get without spending money…
Yes, but I still have issues with making marks on paper and controlling pencil pressure. I’m not the best with light sketching, but it’s the best way to go if you’re doing lineart. Yeah, I know some people who outline last, but it can be tricky since sometimes the pencil lines are covered by color.
It’s been a while since I last saw a video including the NY Nintendo store (I think it was in a 2019 video where customers were reacting to the June Direct) because I didn’t know they had a TV people could use to play games there! It sounds like it’s only one TV, and do people have to take turns doing it? I’m wondering how they manage one large gaming TV there if they have a lot of customers.
I don’t hate RPGs, but they are a bit hard for me since they require strategy (like in Fire Emblem) and thinking about what might happen next. Oh well, but it stinks because I heard it was the best out of the mainline 3DS games, but they overcharge for physical copies because someone told me it was a limited release? Might have no choice but to emulate it instead at some point.
A shame but oh well…you should try PD! I only played the Xbox port, but it was a fun experience last year, though it’s possible the controls on there might be a bit more rough since it’s an emulation of the original N64 version instead. Though, I actually had more fun playing PD’s prequel aand thought the gameplay on that one was better.
Sideways is easier for me, thank gosh almost all rhythm games on phone require being sideways. It’s so hard trying to play console games with touch controls or buttons on screen. It’s ridiculously hard and kind of shows how better the original controls on console are.
That sounds awful. Sorry with what went down and how you’re feeling.
Geez, you need to do all that to get to the ending? Sounds difficult, usually when a game offers more content, achievements or a special ending when you almost get 100% or do extra difficult challenges, i tend to not bother doing so. I do feel like achievement hunting in some games sometimes but rarely.

If you’re curious, the character in my PFP is Flaky from Happy Tree Friends.
@Pastellioli I'm just used to gachas on mobile at this point lol. Controllers were designed for games.
Yea. I'm upset with both him and myself for our respective reactions, but don't feel I have the right to be upset at him.
It's funny cause I'm actually up to where I just need to practice the last boss of the gauntlet, and find that winning key. But yikes it's so much harder than everything before. If you wanna see, look up Absolute Radiance. I've not seen a vid of it yet. My furthest is phase 4 of 6.
@CaleBoi25 I lol'd. Now there's a blooper that flew under my radar.
Serious note, I'm glad AMC reversed that decision, I saw Trolls Band Together at my local AMC. I did see Trolls World Tour with a friend at a local theater that wasn't AMC after the pandemic ended.
Mario games, even a few of the spin off games I have played, are fantastic games thought up and developed. There are different entertaining values to like about the games, rather that be the titles’ creativity, thrill with boldness and/or suspense, and whatever else I can’t think of at the moment.
Some weeks ago I picked up my copy of Super Mario 3D Land and started playing through some levels. I later decided to play through the levels at a faster pace, in a more speedrun style, and doing so I think I played the game the best way I could have enjoyed it. The game itself had a game design that had joy that made me happy interacting with it and playing the game. Which would be another thing I love about this series and also makes me excitingly happy, and means something to me, which I don’t know why as a matter of fact.
Perhaps it's like the reason people watched movies in certain time periods where they weren’t always feeling the best of moods. I actually feel that way about songs that came out prior to 70s (though don’t get me wrong, 70s and others still had songs that were like this). I’m thinking about songs that came out in the 30s and 40s that were focused on being nothing but joy in their score, lyrics and vocals, released in both time periods we obviously all know weren’t good to live through, and thus why so many people listened to them.
But I think with Mario those games, the happy nature of those games I mentioned, uplift my spirits, and in addition, make me think how much we have to be grateful for in life, that reminds us how much of a blessing life is to live through, actually. I also find that that personality the series carries somehow gives me optimism to face whatever challenges await me, whatever they may be, in the unforeseeable future.
I do hope Nintendo continues to make Mario games with that recipe in mind going forward, and I’m sure they will. If not, at the very least, I hope it inspires other developers, indie or not indie, to want to make games with that purpose, so that we’ll always have games like that in the future.

Happy Halloween Chit Chat thread! I had a quiet one today, I had on Trolls hair part of the day because Halloween, and had a bit of candy I was saving for the day.
Also, played a bit of Modern Combat Blackout and planning to read a Trolls Halloween book I have.
Hope everyone has had a good Halloween, or day.
The resident Trolls superfan! Saw Trolls Band Together via early access and absolutely loved it!
@Sunsy Thanks! I hope you had a good Halloween too. Tonight, I played a couple games... Animal Crossing: New Horizons for the Halloween event, and Luigi's Mansion. I went ahead and finished area 2 in the latter game, as well. Earlier, I played and finished Super Castlevania IV in preparation for Halloween, too.
And not related to games, but tonight I also saw Lonesome Ghosts on Disney+ (it's a classic Mickey Mouse short), and it was fun to watch. I hope you're doing well.
