I found this on the Nintendo website. These two games in the news section that are next to each other have almost the same king of lighting and enviorment vibe lol.

Warning: Spicy opinions like "M&Ms are overrated." may leak from this unit!

Pretty bored, but just want to pop in and say that I hope everyone is having a good week so far

@Pastellioli Sounds about right.

Yeah. Leaks both real and fake happen regardless. I'm curious how they'll go about a sequel.

Clickbait, huh? Yet because of that kind of activity online, the idea of "toxic" ppl online is a thing. Ppl don't usually give me the time of day, leading to me not learning, or in some cases, being able to salvage connections I think I otherwise could have.

"You're part of the problem" is something I absolutely hate. In a world where good information is hard to separate from bad at times, and ppl manipulate others freely with information, and takes on such, I find it abhorrent that someone would blame the average individual for getting the wrong idea.
Let alone buying the successor to one of the most massively successful gaming devices of all time.
In my case with Switch 1, I saw a bunch of the same behavior and attitude from Nintendo, and was peeved. But at the same time, I was broke and wanted to keep up.

Mistakes happen. Yeah. The FE cast is too similar. Mario was just an example. It's like, hey, your franchise already has all these characters. Why you gonna put more of them in instead of fresh blood?

Oh yes. Agreed absolutely. I never want another early April 2024 riot again. Because, y'know, no matter how much I requested to know if I was doing something wrong, everyone decided to hold grudges instead....
I'm upset with said friend. I get it can be uncomfy to speak up, and that nobody owes me words, but if you want to avoid discomfort bordering on agony, sometimes you need to be upfront. I still consider him a friend btw, just upset with him, and the fact he doesn't consider me one. Maybe acquaintance is a better term now? I rarely stay angry with others when they bother to finally speak up.

@Mariotag I’m surprised my rhythm game doesn’t just lag like crazy on my phone despite the performance issues it already gives me, with the occasional slow-downs when selecting a song and ugly lagging and frame rate drops when I use a 3DMV while playing.

Yeah, the “leaks” sound fake and I honestly wouldn’t expect them to have already been working on one, or if they are, I don’t expect it to release anytime soon. I still wonder what they’ll do with the next game when the time comes though.

That very toxic activity just makes certain social media sites unbearable to use. While I’m sure all social media sites have a toxic side to them, I find it weird how Twitter looks and sounds like the one that has consistently had a toxicity issue for a while and it only got worse. Conversations escalating, people making snarky comments toward others to get views, some users even saying they feel like they don’t need to be nice and arguments all around, even over trivial matters or topics, on top of the apparently bad advertising and moderation, though IG can be bad too, mainly with the comments I sometimes come across on Reels.

Yeah, I actually really don’t like that saying. I don’t know but to me, it comes off as kind of trying to shame and guilt people that haven’t done anything wrong. I saw a plethora of it when Nintendo announced the Switch 2 hit the 3.5 million mark, and a handful of the people were starting to say that a ton to people who bought it and enjoyed the console, and it just comes off as rude and also manipulative since it sounds like an attempt at guilt-tripping someone…just for buying a game console and actually liking it instead of being angry like them. It honestly feels like that online, or modern internet culture in general just doesn’t like allowing different opinions at all, and if you don’t have the same opinion, you just get insulted, harassed, or made fun of, or in this case with some people that have the Switch 2 and like it, being guilt-tripped for buying one.

The FE cast has a bit of similarities with each other, so I can kind of get how people sort of would prefer newer characters. If there was more differentiation between them then I’m sure people wouldn’t have really minded Byleth getting a spot on the roster, but at least his/her moveset is extremely different from the characters that came before.

It’s just frustrating to want to simply know if something is up, if something is wrong, or if I maybe said or did something that bothered somebody and I don’t get a proper answer. It just lingers around in my head and bothers me a ton, but with some friend groups it seems like a lot of misinformation and trouble can spread if someone in the group is bothered by someone or something but there isn’t any clear expression about it, and possibly leading to people having grudges or burning bridges with each other. I think in this case with your friend, he should have been more upfront about it and it could have led to no grudges being held. It sounds like the grudge he’s holding started from misinformation and confusion over something that got misinterpreted.

@Pastellioli
Oh, what other Rhythm games you have played so far?
Have you ever played any Rhythm Arcade games at your local Arcade if they are available?
I played MaiMai Arcade by SEGA and it has a lot of SEGA Vocaloid songs as well.
And until what level you can play so far from your Rhythm games currently?

I only play kids games with a few rated Teen games that suitable for me.

Pastellioli

@Anti-Matter Sorry for the late reply! Was busy all day yesterday.

I mostly just play Hatsune Miku: Colorful Stage! on the phone. I only started playing it nearly three years ago, but it’s pretty fun and has a nice selection of Vocaloid songs, though I play the English version, the Japanese version has way more songs available since the English version is behind in content. Something I do like about the song selection is that it has a bit of variety. It has a few instrumental songs from another SEGA rhythm game called Gekichumai, and a few songs from the Touhou Project games, and the instrumental songs sound pretty good and are fun to play as well!

When it comes to rhythm games that I play, I usually prefer to play ones that require me to tap the screen since I find the buttons and controls are easier and simpler. I suck when it comes to console rhythm games that require using a controller, as it’s hard for me to get used to. I remember trying to play a rhythm games on the Xbox, I think it was called DJMAX? Couldn’t get into it because of the controls and immediately failed the songs I played. I have tried out other rhythm games on the phone, but I didn’t make much progress on them and I just stick to Colorful Stage.

I haven’t really played any rhythm games at arcades, mainly since I don’t have any near me.

In terms of level, Colorful Stage has 6 difficulty levels: Easy, Normal, Hard, Expert, Master, and Append. I can only really play songs until Expert difficulty, usually, I prefer to play Expert level songs that are at a high difficulty, usually level 27-28 songs since I like a bit of challenge. I am getting a bit used to playing Master difficulty, so far I’ve full combo’d around maybe 70 of them, but I wouldn’t say I can play all of them well on that difficulty. I absolutely can’t do Append though. Unlike the easier difficulties that require either one or two fingers to complete, Append is an extra mode that’s intended for extremely skilled players since it requires players to use more than two fingers to play, and has way more going on in its charts.

Did anyone else hsve this soft regional ban?

"Sorry, you are unable to comment on this content because it is intended for a different region."

Sounds a bit... much if you ask me.

It was only for the user with same region in UK.
I couldn't even post comment on articles who only provided for UK user since i'm from Indonesia and that's fine for me.

Eel

They usually do that for posts like contests and the such, where most of the contributions by people from other regions usually amounted to “and why not (insert country) 😡” when they allowed anyone to post.

So like yeah it’s sad that you can’t even wish them good luck or anything, but totally understandable, as otherwise the comment section would be 90% people complaining they can’t participate.

@Anti-Matter oh yeah it was for the contest. Well, understandable, although it is always a bit of a shock. Or maybe I'm paranoid.

On a complete sidenote, before I forget, have you heard of Starsand Island? I thought it could be right up your alley. The developers' idea is pretty grand - "With a focus on ultra-realistic simulation, deep emotional connections, and limitless interaction, Starsand Island aims to become a “The Sims of the farming genre”, breaking new ground in how players build relationships with NPCs in a rural life sim."

@Eel That's true, I seem to grossly overestimate the comments sections, I keep forgetting that most sites would be better off without them. Not NL nor any sites where people genuinely want to share their passion, but yeah, they get toxic very quickly.

Okay, I will check from YouTube.
I heard the game was still only available on Steam, no news about console version yet.

Yup. Slowdown and trouble booting up sounds right.
Idk what they'll actually do.

Twitter was like, a big political mess for years. They made a huge deal out of it being used to cause problems, banning ppl, only to let ppl get away with things on the opposite end of the spectrum. Then someone buys it and changes it, and suddenly, it's "bad". It is an apex of issues imo.

Honestly, yeah. There's that. There's also in other types of more serious discussion, where ppl are afraid. And there's too many ppl who define others entirely based off such things. I hate it with a passion. Modern social media is a disaster where ppl need to harbor the popular view, or they are a problem.

Yup. Also the fact that it in particular, exploded in size.

Very much so. It's one of my biggest problems with online communication, and I started by viewing it as the problem of the block and mute buttons. There may be legitimate reason to use them, but most of the time, it feels a substitute for actual attempts to figure things out.
This whole mess could have been avoided with proper communication, instead of "I'm not saying anything. Just guess what's going through my head. I won't tell you. Just somehow know that something is wrong, and guess what it is, or you will be punished."
Honorable mention to the "listen you parasite" incident I had last year which made me somewhat suicidal, based off ppl holding grudges over things for 6+ months, and bottling it up using the block button instead of trying to express themselves.

@Mariotag Iluckily don’t have problems when getting the game ready. The game has good performance, but it only has performance issues when I play a 3DMV, but it gets laggy and buggy at random points sometimes. I remember when I started playing years ago, the game had a bug or something where it’d kick me out when I finished a song, and worse is that it never saved my score on the song when it occurred! They fixed it, but it has some bugs like that a few times.

From what I heard it already sounded like a mess, and I used to watch YT videos that showed how terrible some accounts on the site acted. One that stuck out to me the most was how they treated artists…it’s gotten worse with AI art rising, authentic artworks getting called “AI” by how they look and it causing a massive wave of confusion, but before that artists still were treated poorly on there. One notable interaction I saw in a video was an artist who saw someone that used their art as a profile pic, but the artist got no credit, so they DM’d the user and kindly asked them for credit. What did they get in response? Getting insulted and blocked, before the user unblocked them but only to tell them that their art is “just a stupid piece of pixels” that doesn’t deserve credit. It’s disgusting how some users on there poorly treat artists, get provoked by simple things like that and feel the need to insult them and even tell them their artwork is worth nothing. Pretty much never wanted to use it in the first place, but the fact that people get angry and provoked by others over small things also gave me more of a reason to use it. From what actual Twitter users said, it sounded like Twitter was already a bit awful with how people acted on there, but the moderation team usually dealt with problematic posts and people, until I heard with the buyout that the moderation became pretty much nonexistent and more people could freely get away with treating people badly.

Yeah, I’ve seen people far too frequently get insulted by others having their own opinions and feeling the need to insult them. But I find it’s the worst with pop culture media. Don’t like a popular and well-liked piece of media? “You’re wrong!” Like a hated and not really loved piece of media? “Your’re also wrong!” It’s like you have to align with the popular view or else you get hated on, when people forget that there’s a thing as “respectfully disagreeing.” Luckily I haven’t had any interactions like that, but those seemed far too frequently on Twitter from what I saw.

Oh yeah, block and mute buttons definitely help, and I think they are especially helpful on sites that might be known for being extremely negative (Twitter comes to mind when I think about it, given everyone has said the environment there has gotten extremely toxic) but I do think those buttons can be used incorrectly. I actually remember reading on a thread here about the update to the block button, and they said that the reason they phased out blocking here was because they saw some users weren’t using the button as intended and using it instead for trivial things, like, maybe blocking a user just because they had a different opinion on something like a game, or just randomly blocking them for no particular reason, which I saw caused some issues and disruption when trying to hold conversations in threads, and of course that Twitter interaction I mentioned earlier with the artist that wanted credit for their artwork. So yeah, the block button can be used just to avoid resolving issues or not for a legitimately good reason. And I also hate having to guess if something is wrong when someone won’t tell me…again, it makes me a bit paranoid, and I keep thinking about it all day unless I actually know what it is. And that incident you mentioned where you got insulted sounds concerning. Are you still okay?

@Jhena if hot makes things more colorful, let's just say my reality us very oversaturated rn

@Princess_Lilly
Yeah, I should have put the word sunny somewhere in that sentence too. I was born in summer, so maybe this is why I love those hot summer days. Of course cooler days can be cool too. And do not worry about it, with a little bit of patience, the weather will be ideal for you again. In the meantime enjoy some ice cream and those nice real life graphics with oversaturated colours.

By the way it is 34C where I live right now.

@Jhena I don't know if there is any connection but I was born in winter. I do like saturation in my video games, but not when it is from a heatstroke I enjoy this kind of weather only because I have the AC, not gonna lie.

I didn't know that peeps' temperature preference is connected to the season
