@EllaTheQueen6 oh I know those. My best source for

"This video is currently unavailable
to watch in your location"

so yeah.

I'm currently watching some shoujo slice of life "Dairy of our days in the breakwater", kinda okayish at the moment, and I'm not in the condition to watch anything profound.

Scooby-Doo

@EllaTheQueen6 Literally just finished watching the last episode of that. I love all the characters, and the comedy is really funny at times. It's a great show, apart from some odd aspects, and I hope you enjoy it. I'm considering getting the manga at some point, because I dunno what to do now, and I want to see how massively different it is.

@EllaTheQueen6 Sailor Moon. I'm reading the Death Note manga, though, but I'm not that interested in that series, so I'm only reading that at a rate of one of those 2-in-1 collections a year. I always get my brother one for his birthday, saves me having to think of another present.

@Eel Whichever one means “refusing to spend all day doing nothing but whine about wanting to be young again like most online users and accepting that nothing is going to stay the same forever”.

This nostalgia talk reminds me, while I do feel nostalgic for certain things like some video games or Christmases, I do feel like things are better now than they were years ago. Call it a hot take, I guess.

Thinking about it, since I mentioned it earlier, I like wearing character shirts because I love cartoons and characters. Decades ago, getting them was hard because I was a teen, and a lot of them were in kids sizes. I'd be lucky to have a few Jimmy Neutron shirts that were big enough to fit (I was short, so a boys XL fit me fine in those days). Nowadays, I get most of my shirts online, and have no trouble finding them in adult sizes.

Just a personal experience really and a dumb way to look at it, it kind of proves my point to why I prefer things nowadays. Nobody ever thinks about some of the struggles of the past. I'll still feel nostalgic over some games, though a lot of the classic DOS games I play from GOG, most I missed out on having a Mac as a kid and don't have nostalgia for. I never played Jagged Alliance from 1995 until last month.

Well, nostalgia doesn’t necessarily mean one wants to return to the past, or believes things were better back then.

It can be quite a simple as remembering certain things fondly, appreciating details about one’s past.

@Sunsy My mom is able to remember exact conversations down to the letter from decades past, while I can't remember any of my friends' names.

@Eel Alrighty, I've seen it many times with cartoon fans. Some just want to go back to old Nickelodeon, or old Cartoon Network, that's all. Will admit, I like streaming more than traditional channels, I can go about my day and watch shows whenever I want to, at my time. Something that wasn't a thing years ago.

@IceDomino Wow. Not specific conversations, but I always have a habit of remembering when certain things happened on certain day. I don't know why that even is.

@Sunsy When I was a kid I wanted to be able to play My n64 and Gamecube all day. Now I have every game for those systems I ever wanted and I get to play them all the hours I want outside of work. I agree with you I like my life better now, but I still view the old days as good nostalgic memories. But again I like life now and would not trade it for anything!

@Arcata Indeed, there's nothing wrong with enjoying games and stuff from your childhood, or even discovering classics you missed out on (me and DOS games). Just thinking about it, some things are just better now IMO, and it's some things are better now than they were years ago. Even if shirts was a silly way of looking at it.

I prefer being able to stream shows at any time, rather than tune into a show at a specific time. Thinking about times I had to stop doing something just to watch something on TV. Just shows a modern thing that made life a bit better, I can do stuff and tune in anytime.
