I WOULD have gotten into the series earlier, but a combination of A: living in an apartment with a high rent rate meant I couldn't afford most games until I moved to a low-income apartment a year later, and B: I was wary of new IPs. Remember when ARMS failed?
New IPs are much better than the old ones for one reason - they need to give us something good, something different than what was done before. Arms did not fail in delivering great gameplay. And even if it failed financially, why bother? Even if you are the only person in the world knowing a good game, it's worth playing it. More than playing a bad game just because other people play it.
