@Kermit1
Glad I didn't experienced with awful glitches like you have ever watched from YouTube since I played Pokemon Violet alone but the graphic rendering for environments was ridiculous awful, like early PS2 games with low polygon from far distance. I wonder what engine did Gamefreaks used for Pokemon Scarlet / Violet that looked awful in rendering the 3D environments, I don't think it was Unity engine.
If I compared Pokemon Scarlet / Violet with Yokai Watch 4++ (even with Switch version), Yokai Watch 4++ still looked waaaaay much better in rendering the 3D environments and it made Level-5 looked way more professional than Gamefreaks. I'm sure the number of employees in Level-5 office way fewer than Gamefreaks employees but I could see which have more passion in making their games.
@Anti-Matter I think the reason why it looks so bad is because it’s an open-world game. Arceus and Sword/Shield had expansive open-zones, yet it still looked decent. I think Game Freak just needs to find their footing on these types of games. If the next Pokémon game is open-world, it might look better. Only time will tell.

@ChaoticKirby
I was curious what kind of game engines usually developer used.
Every engines have their benefit and disadvantage, depend for what kind of games.
I oftenly see games with Unity engine looked fairly nice in cartoon design but some developers have tendency to make it like cheap mobile games with Unity engine.
I have ever played Yonder the Cloud Catcher Chronicles with Unity engine and it has beautiful 3D environments rendering for an open world style game. Unity engine can be pushed the limit for open world style game.
With Unreal engine, it was look as good as Spyro Reignited, great lighting, pretty good for 3D platformer games with large area, I think the same engine that used for Kingdom Hearts 3.
I have ever played World of Final Fantasy Maxima with Orochi engine, it was pretty weak engine in my opinion as the artist just cheap out the trees rendering like 2D trees with pseudo 3D looking.
@Anti-Matter Usually, bigger companies use their own game engine. Sometimes they’ll use Unreal or another high-quality engine. I could see Game Freak using their own engine for their games, with the exception of Pokémon Go. I know for a fact that Go was made in Unity.
My Switch V1 internal battery has been replaced with new one as the energy dropped so quickly in handheld mode after I owned the machine for more than 5 years, but the new battery didn't really improve the duration of being played in handheld mode. It still drained fairly quick, I knew V2 model and OLED model have better battery life than V1 model.
I think I will get OLED model if necessary.
@TeaCatherine so I finished xenoblade 3. I won’t spoil anything but the final boss is bs just warning you now and also when you are finished there is a load to unpack
It's crazy I became invested into Pokemon Violet I bought yesterday and I forgot my 8 games purchase I got last Friday.
The game itself have some potential but the graphic detail for the environments was killing me. It was like watching PS2 games in HD.
@EaglyTheKawaiiShika BS storywise or BS gameplaywise? Nice to hear your paladin build worked, why do you call it that? Is it an actual class or a name from something else?
Currently playing: Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition, Xenoblade 3 (JP dub replay), Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony, River City Girls
Sorry I keep adding cat ears to random images.
@TeaCatherine gameplay wise. The fight is long the final boss Riki has 5 phases, way too much hp, many unstoppable cutscenes and an awful amount of chain attacks. I lost 2 hours on the last stage fighting them legitimately
the story is great just alot and I mean alot is left for you to unpack in the last few hours
Just shorthand but in games a paladin is usually a knight with white magic. They can guard or heal
