@Kermit1
It was cool, this time of year the rut happens, so they are all kinda gathered in one place. So the bull we saw was the herd bull, and then we could hear 4 on either side of us bugling. this was my first time being near a herd of them, and they are way louder than you would expect up close.

I've told before that I regularly suffer from depression and anxiety attacks. Well, one of the effects, or rather ways my mind tries to deal with them, is fleeing from myself. In such cases, I question everything about myself, who I am, what I've been doing and what I should be doing. This often results in adopting a new "identity" of sorts on social media in the hopes of seeing myself in a more positive light and turn things around.
As you've probably gathered, Nintendo Life isn't the only website I behave this way. I also got profiles on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram for instance. There too I change my usernames and profile pictures. I even go as far as creating new email addresses and change them on all my accounts online (which is a lot) and renaming my PC and mobile device.
I know this is very silly behaviour and some of you might think I need help. Be assured, I go to counselling every 2 weeks. I've come a long way in the past 7 years but my low self esteem is one of the things I'm still struggling with. We're currently in the process of examining whether or not I might have a personality disorder on top of being bipolar and suffering from anxieties.
To combat my disruptive behaviour on sites like this, I've come to an agreement with my psychologist that from now on I'll contact her by phone or email every time I feel the urge to change my online identity. We're hoping that by talking things through first, we get a better understanding of what motivates me to behave this way and counter the urge altogether.
This wasn't easy to write down but I hope you all have a better understanding of how my brain works / or doesn't work if you prefer to look at it that way. Let's hope I find the strength to get rid of this urge or find new ways to deal with it.
@Keveseunie well, I suppose even with the different usernames, there’s a positive aspect to be found in the fact you remain aware of the “you” behind the personas: you haven’t tried to become a different person (as far I am aware), it’s been more like wearing a disguise.
It’s good that you have someone trustworthy and professional to speak about these things with, and that you seek and accept their help. That’s a huge leap forward.
It’s different, since I never did it with any particular intention, but I myself used to treat my username here as an extension of my avatar, and I would customize it on the regular… However I always left a clue in the name to let people figure out it was still me, a base that remained connecting the names. Perhaps an approach like that could work for you as well?
In case you are curious, the original username I used was Morpheel, and from there all of my usernames have contained either Morph, or Eel. Though I eventually started phasing out using Morph when people took to shortening my usernames to just Morph… which got confusing because that’s actually the name of a different user, and people would actually @ them when speaking to me.
@Keveseunie
While I haven’t went through the exact same thing, I have went through similar things with low self esteem and depression. It sucks and I hope things get better for you. Nobody should have to go through mental health problems.

@Keveseunie No worries and I'm happy to see you're okay.
I commend you for recognizing your problems as that is far more a sign of strength of being willing to work on those issues than trying to hide or run away from them. I'm glad you're getting help and I hope it works out!
@Keveseunie Don't worry about it, you're not obligated to post here whatsoever. Glad to see you're doing fine though, taking things at your own pace is a very good strategy!

@Keveseunie I’m vary sorry I didn’t see this sooner. Wile I haven’t felt like changing my self like you describe, anxiety attacks, might make you feel all sorts of ways, from my experience, I have gotten much better at it now, but boy do I get them more often then I’d like, and it’s bad. So I somewhat get where your coming from.
I’m happy you found someone to talk to. And don’t worry, your not required to post, Sorry for the somewhat long respond, what I’m trying to say is, I hope things get much better then they are, my best wishes!
@Keveseunie I want to say that you coming out and saying all this in a pubic space is extremely brave. Greatly appreciate your honesty in all of this; can't imagine it was easy in the slightest. As much as you have work to do to move past this; you can also be very proud of how honest, up front and responsible you have been.
And it's not disruptive at all; just interesting. As @Eel says, it's very clearly you, and you're the same guy beneath whatever new moniker you have. Whatever name you have I'm with ya.
I've got to say Nintendo Life has the most respectful and kind online community I've ever come across.
I feel safe here, and that's why I'm able to be so open and share such personal feelings.
@Keveseunie
Don't forget about me even I didn't reply your post oftenly.
Btw, I only changed my avatar and the profile but I keep my user name Anti-Matter as it was my favorite DDR X2 Boss song.
Can somebody help me ? 🙁
Still nobody want to help me.
If you read this post, please help me to give some advice about XBOX machines.
I still thinking about finding another XBOX 360 machine after I have experienced with disc not detected on my RGH XBOX 360 even using original disc. It was one - two games (DDR UNIVERSE 3 and Kinect Joy Ride) and it made me frustrated as I thought the RGH can bypass all locked region but some games cannot be detected.
My RGH XBOX 360 was already installed with a few pirated XBOX 360 games onto HDD just for testing but I didn't touch the games since then as i felt it killing my purpose to collect original games. So in my mind, I have to find original XBOX 360 USA machine in order to play with my XBOX 360 games especially the locked region USA version. The feeling to stop thinking about XBOX 360 was really hard as I still have some bond feeling with my XBOX 360 games purchase after I spent a lot of money to get the most wanted games DDR UNIVERSE series and the Kinect games.
At the same time, I have some XBOX Classic games but I didn't have the machine yet.
To consider XBOX Classic machine in this year and heard about the issues from XBOX machines compared with PS2 machines, it made me quite nervous, afraid if I buy a short lived XBOX Classic machine due to aging.
I have obtained some of hard to find XBOX games and I really want to give a chance to play my original XBOX games even by using a Modchiped XBOX Classic just for bypassing the locked region as long I can play with original disc regardless of their region.
Thinking everything about XBOX machines was really made me frustrated.
Please help me to get some solutions.
Have a nice day. Voiceactor: The Pirates! (Sony/Aardman 2012) - The Passion: A Brickfilm (Neema 2019) - The Torchlighters: The Story of John Newton (Vision Video 2022) - [NEW] Minno's Laugh and Grow Bible (Minno - 2024)
@Anti-Matter
Now, how could anyone forget about you?
I don't really understand the issue with the Xbox consoles. Just buy them of the second hand market. They're not that difficult to find. If you need a region-specific console, you'll need to import them from that region. Or go to a local importer and ask them to do it for you. You'll have to pay a fee, but it might be less than importing it yourself.
@Keveseunie Hey thank you for letting us know! I was wondering where you went especially since I haven't seen you in the Xenoblade 3 thread for quite some time! I'm sorry you've been going through so much and I completely understand wanting to disconnect from online activity for a while. I hope everything gets better for you! If you ever want to talk I'm always here!
@Keveseunie
I see.
Here in my country Indonesia, actually there are some seller who have used XBOX Classic machines.
I knew XBOX machine was pretty old in this year but I think I still have a chance to get modchipped XBOX Classic just to bypass the region lock so I can play my original XBOX games in different region.
I will try to find the best deal of XBOX Classic machines from my country.
Btw, even on XBOX my games are DDR and other kids games like Spongebob, Carmen SanDiego, Hello Kitty, etc.
New profile pic! Once again, it's got my boy Mario in it, and this one is pretty retro. It takes place in Mario Circuit 3, and Mario's got the Pipe Frame kart. I think it's quite fitting since 1 - I can't stop playing Mario Kart 8 Deluxe at times, and 2 - I was born on the same year Super Mario Kart came out. This was taken from one of my online races.
@Tyranexx Ah, gotcha. That's OK, since real life can hit hard at times, lol. Yeah I'd imagine the final boss would be real challenging - you're gonna want to be prepared... Scar said so himself! (Or should I say, sung so?) I might have asked this before, but what console did you guys have during the N64 and GameCube eras? Just curious. Cool to hear, when I played Shake It, I did recognize some sound effects from Kirby's Epic Yarn. Both games were made by Good-Feel, after all.
@Sunsy Yeah you're welcome, and I'm a nice guy anyway, lol. I did see a few videos on YouTube about the ColecoVision, yeah the controllers definitely look unique. The Intellivision controller is a lot like that as well, except there's this directional disc instead of a joystick, and it's placed beneath the numeric pad. We did manage to have a 5200, it might have been the same one my dad had, but I had no idea how to set it up.
That's cool. I like playing the first F-Zero on occasion as well. I did play Maximum Velocity fairly recently too, so if you both like the first one and GP Legend, I'd recommend MV. F-Zero X is a good one too, though I think that one is even harder.
Yeah... I pretty much get the gist of it whenever I see a video title that comes off as insulting, or something like that. I go up to them, and click on "don't recommend channel" since I don't really like anything that's too negative and clickbaity. I like finding good in stuff that I play or watch, after all. That's awesome to hear you enjoyed the live-action Pinocchio. I'm hoping to get to see more Disney movies in general at some point soon.
@Keveseunie I just wanted to say that I hope things get better for you real soon. I've had similar instances like that... I've had low self esteem and felt depressed at points too, and I tend to be pretty hard on myself as well. We're all on our own journey, so it's always good to try to get help if you need it. We're here for you!
